What type/color of flagstone is that?

I'm also curious what was used to fill the joints between the stones. It doesn't appear to be mortar but still has a very clean finish.

The stone is Lavender bluestone. The stone is not mortared, the joints are filled with crushed rock/gravel.

I think if you want to show off the nice wood grain and inlay of the table, go light color on the sofa, even cream like the drapes, or neutral like the carpet, or a shade darker. Then you can add whatever accents you like in pillow colors, accessories which can easily change seasonally or with time and little cost. The sofa(s) are so big that you might not want them making the most design statement in the room, but just providing comfy seating and a big amount of soothing neutral color. It helps to look at your room like its a landscape painting, foreground, midground, background. Sofas would be midground and you don't want them too bright or busy to overpower the other planes in the roomscape. The colors you have now work, but I would go solid with a textured fabric, something soft like a chenille.

Marble are non-porous thus it would cause etching and corrosion. Besides that, marble are high maintenance materials. Marble requires proper care and maintenance. Acid should never be used on marble as it shall loose its shine. Marble should be regularly polished over a period of time to give it a new look. If proper precautions are not taken the marble becomes yellowish in colour. Italian marble is usually very soft and prone to cracks. Proper resins have to be used to make the surface strong and solid and avoid further cracks. Proper sealants should be used in marble flooring as the marble is highly porous and prone to staining. It absorbs stains very quickly especially kitchen stains hence are not appropriate for kitchen counter tops. Quartz would be a better choice as quartz are non porous. some kids spend the most time in their rooms (reading, playing, talking with friends), and other kids are mostly somewhere else (sports, friends' houses, etc). so i would split the room up and down - with one child in a loft bed or high bunk, who is only in the room to sleep and maybe do homework. the other child would sleep in a regular bed, so they could spread out on the bed & floor with their items and friends. i like the horizontal stripe that is made by the closet doors - why not continue that all around the room? use their favorite colors, as long as the colors are not "too feminine" or too dark for the room.
