What white for kitchen cabinets?

Hi all, any advice on what white for our kitchen cabinets would be greatly appreciated! We want to paint them white and I think I’m down to either Benjamine Moore Pure White or Swiss Coffee. The wall paint color is a behr paint that’s really close to chantilly white. I would like a more neutral to slightly warm white but worry warmer might clash with the tones in our floors and counters. I originally wanted to go with Simply white but think it may clash with the wall colors since it’s so close to chantilly white. So right now it’s between BM pure white and Swiss coffee. Note also the Kitchen gets lots of natural but shaded light. See below color swatches with the wall as well as the digital swatches photoshopped together (note the digital ones do look a lot different than the photographed swatches). What BM white do you recommend? Warmer? Cooler? What swatch do you like?

For heaven sake, make it easy. If you like the white of your walls, use the same white, Or............Simply White is a beautiful white as fresh as snow. It is deceiving, looks nowhere near as yellow/warm when on cabinets and walls or trim. as it does on a swatch of paint, or the chip. Simply adjust your walls to that white and match. You truly don't need fractions of a shade of white.

Simply White below on cabinetry. Ceiling is Ben Moor Decorator White.

Or.... create your own perfect white with a formula made from2/3 Decorator White, 1/3 Linen White. Both Ben Moore. That's below. All whites are subject to your OWN onsite lighting in both natural and artificial lighting

Our DD just had her cabinets painted Simply White. It's a bit warmer white but still looks fine with their white appliances. The UC lighting is wonky but looks nice irl. She's going to paint the darker tiles to lighten them up. She used Hale Navy on the walls. It's so hard to photograph bright rooms in daylight but she's thrilled with the results. She lived through all of this for two weeks with four small children and a husband working long harvest hours!

I would seriously consider replacing the cabinets before putting a new granite countertop on them. The problem is that no one will remove the countertop at a later date if you want to change the cabinets, due to the possibility of breakage. The only choice you will have then is a reface. Adding new doors, drawer fronts, and veneered sides is just a facelift. You could also add new hardwood drawers with undermount cushion close slides, but by the time you do this if will be the same cost as new cabinets now. The cabinets you have now, frameless, particle board sides are notorious for having the hinge screws strip out the particle board they are attached to. Since you can't put a longer screw in them, because the material is only 3/4" of an inch thick you have a problem. You also can't put a wider screw in them because it won't fit through the pre-drilled holes in the hinges.

Thanks, lefty47. This is an older home, and just as One Plan guessed it is a soil stack from the upstairs bathroom. You are probably right that the cost of a custom solution may outweigh the benefits. Another idea I had, along the lines of the worktop bin suggested by One Plan, is a recessed spatula and long-handled utensil holder. I found out that Lee Valley sells motorized tv lift kits like the one used in the video above. It would be a matter of getting the contractor to build the box to go on the lift. I'm still a bit hung up on the idea, though it probably falls into your cost-outweighs-benefit category! I may bring this photo around with me when interviewing prospective contractors, just to see how they answer!

Hello there :) Nice design by the way. Perhaps you can: 1. Change the door panels only. Keep the existing shape & the cupboards, the carpenter can 'update' the doors with different handles too (like image above). 2. Spray paint is more $$$ but I think it is longer lasting. 3. Laminated is less $$ but as we all know it chips & eventually the laminate comes out (wear & tear). 4. Unless you want the inside of the cabinet to be changed from existing white to a different colour, then the carpenter have to dismantle everything & redo. So more $$$$ Hope this helps & Happy shopping!
