Need help with living room curtains/rug

Hi - I need some help picking out curtains that will work in my living room. We have a grey tufted nailhead sofa set and I just purchased blue and white throw pillows to add some color. I am having trouble picking out curtains for that will tie everything together, so would love some ideas or suggestions. I am also not sure if the rug totally works, so open to suggestions on that as well. Thank you!

What do you like? Do you want solid curtains or a print? Is there a Calico Corners near you? Go there and look at some fabrics.

Saerom86-You would be much better served by hiring a local interior design firm. Yours is a big job and based on single photo you posted you have a great property that deserves a one on one consult. You may very well find someone qualified to assist on Houzz. Good luck!

Thanks for your comments, its great to discuss with houzers! You are so right @decoenthusiaste the view is beautiful and one reason why I chose the apartment. the room is longer than it is wide, and I wanted the kitchen/bar to be included in the seating so the attached pic is how I was planning to lay it out. @cdrdesign I can't/change the table, its a gorgeous mahogany piece I had custom made and one I see keeping for some years yet! I dont plan a TV in this room, will put it in another room. This room in for living and entertaining guests. Sorry I dont have layout software, so you will have to make do with my scribbles using powerpoint! Could really do with help on choosing the light fitting in place of the central fan- what would look nice here or should I wait till the furniture gets here to choose the light to match?

Photos didn't attach. Mint is a horrible colour (IMHO) and I have it in spades in my rental. I've ignored it and accented the way I want. It seems to have calmed down since I started using bold colours like red (rugs) and orange (painted cafe street scene). The light in my place is quite warm...so I've been having fun by ignoring the mint. Colours like burnt sienna and many forms of orange seem to work well with mint. Photos would help.
