My personal preference is for seamless hardwood throughout (except bathrooms), but it is just that--a personal preference. Many people prefer tile in their kitchen and hardwood floors through the rest of the house, or some other combination of floorings. Even though it seems like there are so many photographs on Houzz of seamless floors throughout, remember than whenever you are seeing a kitchen with a tile floor the chances are good that the rest of the house is not that same tile. So even though you aren't seeing the seams in the photos, many have them.

Hi Dagobert Duck (interesting name), I am assuming that this is a townhouse in Asia, as you mention the dry kitchen and wet kitchen (terms used mostly in Singapore) and also from the visible lift on the plan that you shared. I would definitly advice you to keep the dry kitchen and place the dining table close to the dry kitchen or close to the bay window on the left. The space here is rather large and can easily accommodate a regular 2 metre table with 8 chairs. If you are concerned about the view of dining table as you enter the house, you could always place a round table near the entrance to block off the view. I agree with Elaine about placing the furniture away from walls. Place a bunch of fresh flowers or art/sculpture above the round table like in a hotel entrance. So the the first view you see when you enter the house is the table with flowers. Its difficult to give you any further advice as we have no idea what your final vision of the place is? Hi Jerome, May I assume you are the proud owner of a new home and are keen to explore the idea of multiple themes in your home? Generally such an idea could work in a large home. A smaller space would like to see a flow of design theme and idea. (I stress "generally") There are no rules of course and one can have pink polka dots with orange florals and stainless steel finishes if one wanted to. It all depends on the space and architecture and light and clients wants and needs. To bring all these ideas to speak the same language can sometimes be tricky and needs to be executed carefully. Speak to a reliable designer and discuss your ideas and how they can all come together to make the space of your dreams.
