Comments (2)Congrats on your new flat. Love the fun and playful kitchen - way to go using color. Gray, white and red can then be used throughout your small space, though in different measure. Perhaps a pale gray painted bedroom - bm moonshine with all white bedding, layer in a charcoal chair and throw, art with red. All white bath, red towels. Living room gray upholstery, multicolored rug with red in it - modern graphic style. Mid-tone gray walls - match your countertop to make it cozy, but use an ikat print at the windows with white and gray and red. The whole thing will flow beautifully....See MoreWhat colour should I select as my curtain? My bedroom is grey.
Comments (3)I would definitely consider an off white colour as this will be a safe, and probably more attractive option with the colours your stated on your bed. However the sheen may not go well with the green and white laminate, if the chandelier go well with the decor of the room then I think going for a sheen finish could easily finish off the room! However if not it could really make your room have two contrasting style schemes. Off white would also look good, but if you like a bit a glam, then a sheen finish is a fantastic option! What other stuff do you have in your room? Is it possible to upload a picture as many 'minds' can make light work lol. We cannot really comment on adding things to brighten it up but I am sure there are designers on Houzz that can help. :)...See MoreWhat rug should I buy for my living room ?
Comments (2)Photos didn't attach. Mint is a horrible colour (IMHO) and I have it in spades in my rental. I've ignored it and accented the way I want. It seems to have calmed down since I started using bold colours like red (rugs) and orange (painted cafe street scene). The light in my place is quite warm...so I've been having fun by ignoring the mint. Colours like burnt sienna and many forms of orange seem to work well with mint. Photos would help....See MoreWhat kind of painting to put behind my chesterfield sofa?
Comments (3)I'm not sure if there are any hard and fast rules but I think it needs to be probably at least half the width of the sofa to look good. In your case I would probably go for something 65-75% of the width of the sofa with maybe the height around 55-70% of the length. You could also try a large portrait style, the best thing to do is to cut out a template and hang it on the wall to see what you like as chesterfields are normally quite low. I'd also move the sofa slightly but are the ceiling lights positioned over the sofa? Hard to tell from the camera angle. I also thought of the Vintage film pics but maybe not original. My basement has a slight film theme with lighting ( actually I have a Chesterfield and cowhide too!) and I have large black and white pics of movie stars but not from film clips ie the iconic Michael Caine shot taken by David Bailey. I also love vintage travel posters, I know they've been around for quite a while now but you could find a destination that means something to you. Or look at industriał style art with a pop of colour. Or an abstract with pops of colour....See MoreUser
