Hi, I would like to use wenge upvc window frames for my new house. My furniture has dark brown frames and I have persian rugs which are in russet and blue. what would be a good color for my external walls and internal walls? I am going to install medium color hardwood floors. Thank you.

Ok, you've got brown, russet and blue--sounds nice. But I don't know about the lighting or location or your preferred style and colors. Do you like green, beige, yellow, gray, purple, apricot? Give us some more info please!

Thanks for your reply. I have uploaded 4 photos of my present living room which I actually do like. All the furniture will remain. The main thing that is changing will be the floor and the color of the sofa and chairs' removable covers. Could you advise what colour of floor I should get, and whether I should keep wall color the same, (more or less), Also what color should I choose for the covers of those chairs? I have all those paintings; Would a different color for one of the walls be good? I am thinking of not having any window coverings or drapes of any kind, which would then make the room brighter. Is that a good idea? Thank you.

I do not see the wall in the picture. I think the shades of grey on the floor and tile planter tile looks great. You might consider a light version of those. It really depends on the amount of light you have in the room.

Hi again. I see where Dytecture is going with this. It's hard to say, really, because the only existing colour you mentioned was white. Once you put something coloured or dark in the space, your eye will zoom past the white and look at the colour or the visual weight of the piece. When I was recommending something white or colourless (glass and metal), I had in mind that you probably don't want to make the desk your only feature. I would recommend having your desk as a functional piece that blends with the decor, but I would definitely add punches of colour elsewhere. Large colourful artworks on the walls, a couple of bold colour-blocked cushions on the sofa (see Dytecture's first picture above), a grouping of three very tall boldly coloured vases (different heights), and so on. These will give you the pizzazz you're looking for. In an otherwise white apartment, a dark or coloured desk is still not going to give you much style or impact.

Since you have white and black windows, fans, doors, gates, you need a light tan beige rather than an off white cream - off white will just look dirty next to the white. Something that goes warm neutral instead of yellow will work well. Tropical can mean lots of different things to different people - pick one accent color - a lagoon type green-blue-green with large leafy palms, and add a sail shade (triangle shaped) in the same tone to the upper deck.

I believe it really depends on the look that you are going for. If it's the modern country or the really rustic country style. I personally feel that EDL has something that is nice and it's called light grey walnut. Pair it with some white and gold elements and you can have a very stylize country-chic space.
