How to dress window with angled ceilings

Need help deciding what kind of window treatment to use on this window. If curtains, at what height?

Ignore the fact that there is no trim around the window. That is next week’s project!

Given the bed and night tables, I'd suggest a Roman shade/blind instead of curtains.

I would agree. It looks like the window doesn't have much depth so you could do an outside mount shade that sits on the trim work and follows the width and height of the trim. Roman Shades, Honeycomb Shades, or Woven Wood Shades would be nice options in there.

It will have the same effect as the blinds you have now, only prettier. Maybe you can have the middle part as one larger blind? Or does that one have an angle too? If you look at the photo I posted that's called 'Kitchens', the blinds are almost touching each other. I think that will work for your window. If you can have something like that made....

I'm not sure if there are any hard and fast rules but I think it needs to be probably at least half the width of the sofa to look good. In your case I would probably go for something 65-75% of the width of the sofa with maybe the height around 55-70% of the length. You could also try a large portrait style, the best thing to do is to cut out a template and hang it on the wall to see what you like as chesterfields are normally quite low. I'd also move the sofa slightly but are the ceiling lights positioned over the sofa? Hard to tell from the camera angle. I also thought of the Vintage film pics but maybe not original. My basement has a slight film theme with lighting ( actually I have a Chesterfield and cowhide too!) and I have large black and white pics of movie stars but not from film clips ie the iconic Michael Caine shot taken by David Bailey. I also love vintage travel posters, I know they've been around for quite a while now but you could find a destination that means something to you. Or look at industriał style art with a pop of colour. Or an abstract with pops of colour.

Thanks for making the time to follow up with my question. I suppose i could have an alternative scheme where the TV is at the bookshelf wall and on the opposite wall to fit a right angle 3+2 seater sofa facing the TV instead. Can i fit in a 1.2m round dining table in that dining space ? There will be custom made fittings e.g. shoe cabinet, tv console, work desk, book/display shelf. May i also check with you on your fees if i do intend to have a fuller drawing plan of the layout and the fittings ? Thank you.

Because of the placement of the furniture, I wouldn't do drapes. I would suggest an outside-mounted Roman shade. To elongate the window, I would go at least 6-12" above the window.

Hey There: You can go with a standard size roller shade or other style and install it to the outside or the window - an inside mount is really not needed. You might want to motorize it but for sure have it cordless for child safety. And if you want / need it really dark in your bedroom - black out fabric and the theater setting tracks will keep all the light out.
