Hello and thanks for your question. I think the room can be successful with a minimum of 42'. If the overall home is larger it might scale better to be in the neighborhood of 45'-48'.

While big mirrors are great for expanding space, I would recommend not fitting mirrors on walls in the bedroom. Maybe cupboards with some doors with mirror, or a large mirror.

this is fairly typical to closets (because most have a door with this type of construction above the door opening). the most typical way to deal with this awkward space is to have 12" deep shelves as high as you can reach. The other 12" of depth (the front half of the closet) is used to reach up into in order to access that which is on the shelves.
