Help!! Air vent in the way.

Any ideas on how to design this space with the cold air return smack dab in the middle of the room. I was thinking of doing a small sectional where it would end just before the air return however hanging anything on that wall would look off balanced. And you can’t block it either.

Is there enough room tofloat the furniture in the room? You could also put a skinny console on the wall so the intake is not blocked

I would get a larger rug and pull the two sofas onto it in an "L" with their arms touching and and the rug under the front 1/3 of the, extending past the ends by a foot or more.

The least expensive thing I can think of is metal roofing. I also always have my windows open- fresh air is a must for me! But I have heard that keeping open containers of baking powder around the kitchen and neutralise PH levels and cut through bad smells..haven't given it a go myself- but may be it is work a try!
