Help with exterior color selections

We are getting new windows and garage doors and I’m torn between white windows and bronze windows. The same for the garage door, white or a bronze/brown. Ultimately we want to paint the brick a dark color, likely a bronze. Front door will be a pop of color (tbd). We will live with the somewhat vanilla vinyl siding for several years But are for sure painting the brick. Should we go with white windows and garage door or bronze windows and similar garage door? I’m a bit worried the garbe doors and brink will feel heavy. In my mind it looks great. Thoughts? Anyone do something similar?

I'd suggest going with white for a more updated look and feel. It will be easier to find a color of your choice when it is time to paint brick and door. For optimum results, it is best to select all colors together so you have a color plan in mind going forward, rather than piece mealing it.

If you want a traditional leaning home then select the white.

If you would like to push the house to be more MCM then select bronze.

BTW you can paint over the factory finish paint on the garage door because their brow will NEVER match your bronze.

Hi Rubypumps. Unfortunately you have made the common mistake of mixing undertones. I see this a lot as a colour consultant. Mistakes with your hard finishes are the worst kind because they are very costly to change. Right now your walls have a pink undertone and your walls behind the tub and counter are clearly blue grey. Since blue is complementary to pink, it brings out the pink in the tile even more and the clean blue makes the tile look dirty. It may be hard for you to see this, but this is what's happening and this is probably why you don't like your bathroom. Since you chose such a busy mosaic, it has become the boss (and focal point) of the room and I would now keep your other finishes as simple as possible. If you can, down the road, change the beige tile. Because unfortunately, there is no magic colour combination that will make it disappear. Working with what you have, I would most likely go with a more neutral cabinet like Uniboard G21 Viva Walnut. It will help warm up the space. Black is too stark for this bathroom.

Beside the sequence of events, you need to know the timeline as in how long for each stage. Start selecting your tiles and sanitary wares for your kitchen and toilets as it will take sometime to agree (I am assuming you have to discuss with your family) on the colors and design of the tiles, the type of taps, mixers etc. Also think about where you want to locate your switches and lightings. If you are getting refrigerator with auto ice maker, you need to decide the position as well so your contractor put a water and power point near it. All these take a lot time for decision when you have a few persons to discuss and decide. Dun get into a situation where your contractor tells you they are waiting for you to get to the next stage and put the delay to you and you will be forced to make hasty decisions. Hello, In 3 years time, you need to put back the wall since u have a 9 yrs old Son hitting teenager and expect own space or your girl would prefer her private space as girl and part of build self-respected lady. Beginning putting them together helps build bond and family strength. Best to start building independence early, makes your parenting easier. Build a home rather than a house. A space is meant to build relationship. With your family size, I would not suggest breaking wall. Extend living room, best is extending into balcony by creating same levels as living room. Now got zip blinds which seal aircon space within balcony open to living. Having glass showcase is good for your toys display. See idea from Ikea. For your new home starting, get basic done prosper. Basic means the essentials. For other parts, take your time and enjoy finding more ideas and shopping around till the great feeling comes to u. If not sure, I think Ikea has many combinations so if u do not like after few years, easy to do make-over. Expensive furniture is too painful to change. Ha! More space for bedroom? use the folding type beds and double as study table. I use platform bed like Japanese room. For Long dining tables, there are extendable type when guests comes. Ikea comes cheapest. There are premium in other Malls. Get extra chair that is stackable not foldable, hurt kids fingers and takes space. Have fun!

When you say bronze are you thinking this? You could do the windows in bronze and then decide what color for the garage doors and the brick. Bronze certainly works with white,

Thank you all! As we’ve looked around the greater area white trim/windows is way over done. The Andersen rep is getting us a rendering of our house with the brown/bronze. i Like the image with the white garage, we can start out that way and always paint later. If we paint the brick bronze then dark garage doors might make it too heavy.
