Please share the type and color of wood on the side of the house. Looking to update my ranch house with wood accents.

Hi, thank you so much for your question. Unfortunately, I didn't choose the wood for the outside and this was many years ago. Cedar is always a good choice with a clear coat on it.

I very much agree with what Beverly said regarding adding shutters to your home. You don't have the space on either side of the windows to accommodate appropriately sized shutters. Awnings would definitely be an option. Since you're in the Caribbean, you can add color by using a brightly striped awning. One shutter option that you could consider would be a Bahama Shutter. Since they mount at the top of the windows, you wouldn't have any problem adding them if you like.
