Need help on the furniture layout for open plan living room
Comments (9)Thanks for your comments, its great to discuss with houzers! You are so right @decoenthusiaste the view is beautiful and one reason why I chose the apartment. the room is longer than it is wide, and I wanted the kitchen/bar to be included in the seating so the attached pic is how I was planning to lay it out. @cdrdesign I can't/change the table, its a gorgeous mahogany piece I had custom made and one I see keeping for some years yet! I dont plan a TV in this room, will put it in another room. This room in for living and entertaining guests. Sorry I dont have layout software, so you will have to make do with my scribbles using powerpoint! Could really do with help on choosing the light fitting in place of the central fan- what would look nice here or should I wait till the furniture gets here to choose the light to match?...See MoreLeather or linen sofa.
Comments (7)UGH im going through the same thing. My household consists of 2 cats (one is a kitten who is hyper 24/7) a husband who plops down on everything, and eats anything he can while sitting on the sofa, a 60 lb german shepherd standard poodle mix that sheds like no other, and a 4 year old who spills, draws, puts make up on anything in sight! We are switching to leather. Its a lot more durable, so much easier to clean, the upkeep on a linen sofa is too much to handle, by the time I get done cleaning it, another stain is made! It also shows wear and tear a little too much. Have you thought about having a custom made cover? that way you can get the leather couch and then if you start to reallllly miss that linen put the cover on! I am personally a fan of pure white couches, and the sectional we are looking at is also a dark brown leather. I will be purchasing the sectional and also having a slip cover custom made so when I am feeling a little like I want a different texture for the furniture I can easily just slip that on....See MoreWhere else to place this kind of chairs or what else to partner with?
Comments (7)Are these your chairs? They are pretty good looking. You can go with something like a round copper-topped table, use them as a host and hostess chair in a formal dining setting, or as parlor/library occasional chairs. Those would be a few great uses for them. They are very nice and can either go rustic, craftsman, lodge or traditional in the right environment....See MoreHow do I view and participate in discussions?
