What is a good furniture layout for this awkward open living room?
Comments (2)Hello Cody, If the TV isn't going on the mantle wall than the only other available wall is the 13'5" wall. You might think about moving the TV to this wall and balancing it with art or plants. Your sofa can be turned with its back to the entrance/stairs and a small console table can be placed behind it to act as a visual stop. Your chair can be placed where the sofa currently sits or you could add a pair of new chairs to this area near the stair alcove which would create a smaller seating cluster there. Small benches could be placed in front of the fire for additional seating, when and if necessary. This one is a challenge, but if you don't mind the TV as focal point and the sofa perpendicular to the fireplace, this could work. Comments (1)This is a really simplistic design with fine features. You should contact the designer - Clementi West and find out what a project like this would involve? Good luck!...See MoreWhat kind of style is this?
Comments (1)If you're looking to apply this to your new home, maybe soften up the colours a bit? It's definitely a lot of blue....See MoreNew black tiles with stain / Grout haze
Comments (7)Hi Thrishna, looks like you've put quite a lot of effort cleaning it already. Have you already tried the following: • Oxygenated bleach • Warm water • Coarse scrubbing brush (like an old toothbrush) • Towel • Lemon • Grout sealer TIP: Cleaning coloured grout should be done with special care. Bleaching agents (like chlorine bleach) can discolour and harm the coloured grout. Fortunately, oxygenated bleach does not contain corrosive chemicals and is safe to use on all grout. For those impossible-to-remove stains, you might want to consider: A commercial tile and grout cleaner A coarser brush (avoid using metal bristles, though, as they can erode the grout) Grout stain-proof If after you’ve tried all three, the stain is still hanging strong, you may have to resort to removing the old grout and replacing it with new. I got the above tips from our article "Household Headaches: How to Clean Tile Grout" here: https://www.houzz.com.sg/magazine/household-headaches-how-to-clean-tile-grout-stsetivw-vs~33806355 It's quite an extensive guide, so you might want start out with the lightest options?...See Morejstainbrook
