A Little House by the Big House

Turn-of-the-Century Home Reimagined

This turn-of-the-century house was moved to this location from the grounds of the Michigan Stadium in the late 1920’s. Saved from demolition once, it begins life again as an energy and space efficient home adapted to modern living. Designed by Architectural Resource and constructed by Meadowlark Builders, this home combines state of the art building technology with a flexible “loose-fit, long life” design made for a growing family. The “not-so-big” design results in spaces that open to one another while differentiating rooms visually. This makes the house feel larger and increases utility of areas. This green home remodel features a hot roof, improved insulation, SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels) for the exterior walls, ICFs (Insulated Concrete Forms) for the foundation, an ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilator) and a PEX Water Delivery System.
