Is Matt Black the New Grey?
Don’t sit on the fence; go for dramatic matt black in your home rather than grey
Black is a colour – or non-colour depending on your perspective – that I’ve loved for many years. When I got my first part-time job and could afford to buy my own clothes, I chose black.
When it comes to interior design, I remain enamoured of the inky hue. All my current furniture are either black or so dark a timber that it’s black. Having rented for years, I can tell you that rentals are always white and dark furniture and rugs make an easy and dramatic interior statement.
Black, specifically matt black, is now having a moment. It’s already being seen in fashion, and is making its way into interiors for 2019.
One reason for this is that matt black looks fabulous as an accent colour with the current pastel interior trend.
Matt black also looks stunning with gold, rose gold and the neo-traditional style that’s increasingly popular.
