This glowing, colorful Magic front garden was once a lawn with a Dwarf Alberta Spruce. Now full of drought tolerant perennials, spiral stone paths, and no lawn at all!

This is the view that greets you upon turning the corner to enter the backyard. Stepping stones in whooly thyme run alongside the beginning of the dry creek.

Finished rooftop project with custom metal furniture and arbor, Tournesol planters, and container plantings. This is a close up of the custom metal furnishings. On top of the custom metal table base we installed limestone slabs. We decided wo add warmth to the space, by finding a reclaimed piece of wood and affixing it to a custom metal base.

This deck creates an easy flow from the kitchen, outdoors to the deck then the patio, then the garden. Without a railing, it feels like a "raft" floating above the patio and lush greenery of this terraced yard. Made from locally sourced black locust wood and cedar, with steps of granite curb stones salvaged from a New Hampshire highway. The shelves were designed to create open screening from a neighbors yard and driveway and house a changing collection of small plants, artifacts, and stones.

More about this project:
Complementing the traditional red brick house, Gary Duff Designs incorporated the brick into the swimming pool patio with bluestone border details. Keeping with the classic style for the front entrance, entry gates are set behind a Belgian block apron at the driveway.

The hedgehog is the gardener’s friend (it snacks on pests, and is so cute) and our playful Hedgehog Planter is one, too. Finished to have the look of aged stone, it’s actually created with more durable (and lighter in weight) manmade materials. Large 24-gallon planter is crafted of magnesia, which is similar to resin. The small 6-gallon planter is a polyresin composite. The more dimensional, sculpted-looking exterior design of the body suggests the spines of a real hedgehog. With its long nose poised to delicately sniff any greenery, our playful planter makes a good home for air plants and succulents, and adds charm to any setting. No drain hole.
