Tarzana Contemporary

This elegant garden functions as an outdoor living room, with textured plantings in shades of green as the walls of the space. The existing patio was extended with a grid of concrete pavers; warm-colored flagstone was re-used and introduced into the new seating area to play off the geometry as a touch of wabi sabi. The same honey-colored tones are seen in the river stones surrounding the central cassia tree. The focal point of the space is a sculpture by Los Angeles potter Adam Silverman. Photo by Martin Cox
