“Missy is a color genius--I recently purchased a highly contemporary town house in North Montrose which, as expected, was very stark, edgy and white. Although the majority of my rooms remain this way (by design), I did need to add some interest in certain rooms using color whilst co-ordinating with the remainder of my contemporary furniture. Missy assisted me with color advice and selection in four separate areas: my bedroom, dining room, powder room, and office. In all cases, she spent a significant amount of time with me to understand my personality, and then assisted me with color selection, including gently guiding me (effectively by "giving me permission") to go with my personality and select a more "out there" color than I originally was thinking about. For my personality, she realized that I would feel most comfortable with a funky chocolate brown (one wall in dining area), funky orange (powder room), citriline (office), and a very muted gray/brown (master bedroom and bathroom). I am extremely pleased that she gently guided me in this direction, and I couldn't recommend her more highly. Thank you Missy!”

If we'd tried to do it on our own, it would have taken ages, and we just don't have that kind of time, AND we would have ended up with furniture that would quickly look dated. The look she gave us was midcentury modern, and it goes great with our home. We are extremely happy with the final product and with her reasonable rates. There were no surprise expenses. I reached out to Jo specifically because of her professional experience, as well as formal education, in interior design. I wanted someone knowledgeable who would give me sound advice. Even though my projects have not been very big, the difference between Jo and previous designers I've worked with is night and day! Jo has done the following: 1) Expressed interest in my taste and design preferences and worked to incorporate them into her suggestions. 2) Jo never pressured me to buy 'extra' items for commission - she focused on what I asked for and made me feel she wanted me to be happy with the result and selections. 3) Jo stayed in communication with me on my order status. 4) Jo made numerous trips to my house to ensure selections would work with existing pieces in my rooms and told me she wanted things to look perfect for me. 5) Jo was very friendly to work with. 6) Jo gave me feedback based on what worked within the 'rules' of design, while still helping me stick to the look I asked for. 7) Jo went out of her way to find alternate fabric sources in Dallas to get me the 'right' fabrics, even for something small versus just trying to sell me what they had at Ethan Allen.
