Need help with paint color in small master bedroom

I want to create a warm, romantic bedroom. Suggestions for paint colors would be appreciated.... Has anyone painted their wainscotting a colour rather than white? And what to do with window above bed....

I would go with a warm 'greige' color (grey/beige). and the wainscoting always looks classic just white. but you could definitely go with a darker greige shade if you aren't fond of the white. and for the window, I would take the existing blinds down and replace with roman shades, or something else with a soft neutral color and/or have some drapes for the window (3rd pic). if you really want to hide the window, you could put drapes on the whole wall and cover the window

I would go completely unconventional and paint the wainscoting a color present in your duvet cover (and abandon the idea of keeping it white). It will add warmth and create a much more welcoming and delicious bedroom feel. The blinds above your bed need to be replaced with something softer - the idea of roman blinds presented by jennyrf is a good idea, or even something softer like the french pleated drapes shown in her Glenwood Residence photo would be wonderful. What I like about the pleated drapes is that they will add some much needed richness and softness to the room, while doubling as a headboard for your bed. Bedrooms are such sanctuaries, and I am excited to see yours transformed into one. Please post images once you've made some selections!

First of all, your floor shouldn't constrain you. You can resolve its impact on the room by placing a large rug on the floor. I would go for a soft shag cream rug so it is textural and literally soft on the eye and feet.Then, with your bed and furnishings around the walls, you can "break" the join between floor and wall and paint your teals or greens... a soft green that veers more to olive than lime could work, as could a soft teal... hard to say without photos...

No lah, it's important your hubby has his own relaxation area just like you'd have your lounge area. :) Sometimes we need to have our own spaces. Does your hubby not want the entertainment system to be in the living room? If you're worried about the sight of electronics marring your decor, your ID should be able to come up with clever spaces/tricks to store consoles and hide wires. Here's the arrangement in my home: our tv, soundbar, subwoofer and PS4 are in the living room. Having them in the living room comes in useful for guests if we all want to watch a movie, or if they sometimes want to have a go at the PS4 (I sometimes play too!). In our bedroom, we have a Wi-Fi speaker (that integrates with the sound system in the living room) and a PC with a huge desktop monitor for my hubby's PC games or general computer usage. But all the appliances are not an eyesore at all because they're sleek and my hubby is very neat when it comes to cable management. Anyway, think about your routine and imagine yourselves using the spaces you want to create to get a better idea of how to create them. :)

Thanks everyone for the great comments!! I’ve decided to incorporate everyone’s comments. 1) Using Nippon rememberance for the wall color 2) Using pastel curtains with 3M to cover the ugly door and meter box 3) Making my own night stand from books 4) Getting a big art piece for the side wall 5) Putting a 55 inch TV at the foot of my bed for well, extravagance Some quick questions... 1) what color curtains and table top work best with this shade of grey? For the table top, I might get a fresh piece of wood and laminate myself. 2) what modern frame do you recommend for this wall and this kind of art, or should I drop the frame, and innovate, maybe just get a big piece of plastic and glue the sides? ;) 3) any fun ideas for the TV stand? I don’t want to rent a minivan just to transport the tv stand, and the space between my bed and the planned curtain is tiny - like 45cm. So I’m thinking of an adhoc tv stand and stabilising it in a different way. :) Ok, you guys have been super crazy helpful! Thank you so much, I’ll share photos (hopefully not too embarrassing) when I’m done!

If you are after romance in the room you could add Priscilla style curtains which would totally suit your duvet and go with a colour such as BM330 - Sombrero on the walls (grey is not romantic: think about the saying "it's a grey day" and you will see what I mean). No reason you couldn't paint the wainscotting a warmer white or even a cream. BM's Hepplewhite Ivory is dreamy.
