What to put on my living room wall?

The color scheme I would like in my living room is black, white, grey, and beige. What would you guys recommend to put on my living room wall.

Are you asking about paint color? Do you have a rug for this space, if not choose one with a bold pattern. I think you also need to a at least one "punch" color, such as lime green, or magenta or both. It could be in the rug or in additional pillows. It would be nice to see other walls in the room.

I agree with Barbara. You should go with bold colors to enhance the black, white, and gray. Based on that photo, I like colors like orange or light blue for the room. Choose a canvas artwork with no frame including one of the bold colors to match the contemporary casual look. If you're not using a rug, find other ways to blend color from the colors in your wall art. Add a couple of toss pillows for your sofa or decor accessories for your coffee table to tie in the colors.

Hello Cody, If the TV isn't going on the mantle wall than the only other available wall is the 13'5" wall. You might think about moving the TV to this wall and balancing it with art or plants. Your sofa can be turned with its back to the entrance/stairs and a small console table can be placed behind it to act as a visual stop. Your chair can be placed where the sofa currently sits or you could add a pair of new chairs to this area near the stair alcove which would create a smaller seating cluster there. Small benches could be placed in front of the fire for additional seating, when and if necessary. This one is a challenge, but if you don't mind the TV as focal point and the sofa perpendicular to the fireplace, this could work. I'm not sure if there are any hard and fast rules but I think it needs to be probably at least half the width of the sofa to look good. In your case I would probably go for something 65-75% of the width of the sofa with maybe the height around 55-70% of the length. You could also try a large portrait style, the best thing to do is to cut out a template and hang it on the wall to see what you like as chesterfields are normally quite low. I'd also move the sofa slightly but are the ceiling lights positioned over the sofa? Hard to tell from the camera angle. I also thought of the Vintage film pics but maybe not original. My basement has a slight film theme with lighting ( actually I have a Chesterfield and cowhide too!) and I have large black and white pics of movie stars but not from film clips ie the iconic Michael Caine shot taken by David Bailey. I also love vintage travel posters, I know they've been around for quite a while now but you could find a destination that means something to you. Or look at industriał style art with a pop of colour. Or an abstract with pops of colour.

You have gotten some great advice so far.

I also like the idea of enlarging and displaying some of your favorite photos of family members, favorite memories or your favorite places in a casual living space or family room area.

I agree with Anna. Art should be personal and something you like looking at everyday, not to just "fill a wall". A bold pop of color is great for monochromatic décor either in the area rug or art or both.. Look at overstock.com, they have all kinds of oversized art at very reasonable prices and a great return policy. I have ordered prints (and returned) and have been very happy. Keep your art, think the guideline is 2/3 of the space, behind the sofa back) Measure before ordering.

What ever you do make it big. I would push sofa downs a couple of feet add a small end table with a lamp. wall IKEA sells a big 40" black,and white sky line of London. Would work hang 7" from top of sofa. Your coffee table is too big. Get a smaller round one. It would fit area better.a 8x10 area rug. In some bold contemporary print. Maybe a gray background. But center the sofa on that wall would make room look better.
