Curtain color

I have a navy blue leather carpet and am thinking of getting curtains preferably plain in color or joining 2 different colors. I was thinking silver and blue, which would be nice, just that it would be a little too cool and my husband prefers brighter or white and olive green, jus not sure whether they would have the color. Also, I don't get as much sunlight in the living room in the morning, only in the afternoon. If I can get some advice for the sofa color, tht would be much appreciated too

Try to find drapes that have a white background with the blue and olive green. Go with a grey/taupe sofa with white piping. Add white and silver tables.

Dark blue - which i adore goes very well with silver/gray, then you could add, some warmth with yellow or red. If you want to go all cool, then you can use turquoise accents or just cream or white.

Hello everyone, thank you for your comments. It is my first time using Houzz forum so I'm pleasantly surprised by the responses. My furniture: I have mainly neutral tone furnitures (white B&B fat fat coffee tables, B&B Solo couch with light grey textured upholstery, Eames LCW chair in birch, an opaque glass rectangular dining table with black metal legs, Starck Lizz white dining chairs, and light brown leather bed frame, Cassina Utreche dark brown leather armchairs, etc) and I spice it up with red/colorful accessories (red Vitra elephant stool, red Vitra ball clock, orange smeg fridge, etc). Hope you don't mind me going into details on the furniture. I hope to give you all an idea of how my space looks like for better advice on the curtains. I prefer curtains to blinds because I find blinds difficult to clean (I prefer to be able to wash my curtains). I agree that grey may not be a lasting colour. My current curtains are off white/beige. I have my day curtains in organza with some designs on it and night curtains in 100% cotton. However, I realize that I do get tired of the print on the day curtains so I want to try a plain one for my new home. In additon, I want more light to come through the day curtains. For the night curtains, I'm trying to avoid cotton since I realize that it shrinks easily (even dry cleaning). My curtain maker says polyester has less shrinkage and are easier to wash and does not trap dust unlike cotton. I'm toying with the idea of the linen like fabric for a slightly different feel but I've not seen this in actual curtains before and I'm worried it may not turn out well. For organza, I know it will be a safe choice. I'm torn between being on the safe side (but almost everyone else will have similar day curtains in our condo) or trying the linen. What do you all think? Will you go for safe off white/beige organza or slightly different off white/beige linen-like fabric? Sorry that my comments are so long.

You already have your accent colour as your sofa pillows (log roll pillows). I would take one of them shopping with me to get a rug that has that colour in it. It doesn't need to be a lot of that colour (I love the idea of burgandy rug here...but it might be too much with your monotone scheme). You can find a large rug that incorporates that red/raspberry in it so that you have a colour that is now your accent.

Thanks everyone for the great comments!! I’ve decided to incorporate everyone’s comments. 1) Using Nippon rememberance for the wall color 2) Using pastel curtains with 3M to cover the ugly door and meter box 3) Making my own night stand from books 4) Getting a big art piece for the side wall 5) Putting a 55 inch TV at the foot of my bed for well, extravagance Some quick questions... 1) what color curtains and table top work best with this shade of grey? For the table top, I might get a fresh piece of wood and laminate myself. 2) what modern frame do you recommend for this wall and this kind of art, or should I drop the frame, and innovate, maybe just get a big piece of plastic and glue the sides? ;) 3) any fun ideas for the TV stand? I don’t want to rent a minivan just to transport the tv stand, and the space between my bed and the planned curtain is tiny - like 45cm. So I’m thinking of an adhoc tv stand and stabilising it in a different way. :) Ok, you guys have been super crazy helpful! Thks lots, I actually was thinking along the lines both of you recommended, esp silver and navy blue or white and olive green. I decided not to go for the first option as my room doesn't get much sunlight, although I love the cool feeling, but my husband prefers warmer and brighter colors. Unfortunately they didn't have olive green in plain material so I chose beige plain background with strong green for the top, will attach a pic when the curtain is done, the before and after pic
