This room has really inspired me as we are about to close on a brand new house. My proposed theater room will be in a 10x12 room. Can you elaborate on how the overhead lighting was done and what material? Is the speaker system in the room a 7.1 system and are there any additional surrounds and ceiling speakers incorporated in the room? Was a 84" inch projector screen about the largest they could go in that size room without detracting from the experience? Was any acoustical treatment done in the room? Thank you in advance for any answers you can provide and thank you for the motivation. Superbly done.

Comments (11)I opened my earlier post to edit the paint name in case you ever want to paint non-tufted, no-nap fabric. Unfortunately, my cat Linguine loves the binging and bonging sounds of the computer when he stands on the keyboard. Not helpful. It disappeared so... here is the name: Simply Spray Fabric Paint for Upholstery. (They have your charcoal gray) It did not make the fabric crunchy, stiff or weird. Nobody wants crunchy, stiff, or weird :-) Again, I would not paint the fabric on your gorgeous bed but I would change the wood color. The black edge and empty white room are the reasons it looks heavy. If you paint the black, I would suggest using an artist brush on the edge that meets the fabric even with fabric covered. House or painter's brushes are too wide for good control in that tight space. They are not as flexible as artists brushes nor as small. The Paris bed I mentioned was gray velvet and soft matte metallic gold wood. Soft, romantic, dreamy and transporting to a world of Princesses and Kings. Comments (3)I would definitely consider an off white colour as this will be a safe, and probably more attractive option with the colours your stated on your bed. However the sheen may not go well with the green and white laminate, if the chandelier go well with the decor of the room then I think going for a sheen finish could easily finish off the room! However if not it could really make your room have two contrasting style schemes. Off white would also look good, but if you like a bit a glam, then a sheen finish is a fantastic option! What other stuff do you have in your room? Is it possible to upload a picture as many 'minds' can make light work lol. We cannot really comment on adding things to brighten it up but I am sure there are designers on Houzz that can help. :)...See More- PRO

3 years agoHere is our completed 10x12 room. 5.4.2. Dolby Atmos and two 15” subwoofers. JVC 4K projector with a 96” screen. We have recently sold that home and recently moved to another state and just put an offer on another home that offers another small room for home theater so I am back to the drawing board!
