What did you use between the stepping stones? Is it a type of ground cover and would it work in a semi-shaded area. I get some mid morning sun and then filtered through the afternoon.

Thank you! Lifestyle Landscapes did install this work however controversial for some. The groundcover is Selaginella krauss 'Aurea' / Golden spike moss. It should work perfectly for the environment you describe. Sunny yellow foliage creates a tight mat and provides wonderful contrast in a shade garden. Requires moist soil. Part shade. Evergreen. Ht. 1-2in, Zone 7

Thank you (Lifestyle Landscapes) for your reply. I'll save the info. Any ideas who would carry this groundcover? If I recall, you're in the Seattle area. I'm in the N. Tacoma area. Sorry about the controversial aspect to your story! I like all the qualities you listed for the groundcover!

I also have an overwhelming need to see something curvy, flirtatious and round in the space. Consider this when scouting for decor and accesory items (i.e. round rug, curvy fluid light fixtures). Also, would it be a complete abomination to sand down the furniture (so it looks older) or painting it a new color before upholstering to modernize it? I agree with j222b's suggestion in that the furniture and space could benefit from some eclectic coverings but perhaps a neutral fabric against a new color that could bring out the carving of the wood could work too? In my head I see a rusty orange or deep aubergine purple or rich dark green. Just a thought...

What a great room! If you enjoy the general Monochromatic feel of your room I'd go with white or silver (see 'option2' photo) and let your accent pillows do the accenting! The blue hue on the wall actually simplifies your color options. Either pull that color in through a patterned application as mentioned above (see 'option1' photo) or just stick to silver/white. Hi. It's looking really good and you've done well with the bookshelves! ! I love the new sofa! I would say just a tad more yellow if your husband can bear it, doesn't have to be solid yellow. I'd add something else on the left shelves (I'd move one shelf of photos to the right hand shelving and swap for some books), maybe a ginger jar if you can get an old one. Maybe a patterned throw or cushion for your wooden chair and a small yellow throw for the bench just draped over the corner. Table idea sounds great. Are you happy with it? I think it's made such a big difference

I would call first to make sure they have it. In South Seattle is Furney's nursery and the other two I would recommend are Swanson's in Ballard, and Molbaks in Woodinville. I don't know the nurseries in Tacoma to suggest something closer. It's pretty common I would guess you will find it somewhere without too much trouble.
