counter tops and back splash help

I'd like to use Cambria Brittanica (white with gray veining above) on kitchen counters and/or kitchen island. My perimeter cabinets will be white uppers and lowers with a gray island. Should I use the same on both or use a lighter one with less movement on gray island and use the britannica on perimeter counters? Any suggestions for back splash? Floor is medium tone hardwood. Here are some pics below that I like of similar look I'm going for, just having hard time deciding...I like this one below but think it may be too gray for main counters?

Hello there,

Great design concepts! Your kitchen will be beautiful. We suggest using the same countertop on both the perimeter and the island. It provides a common thread. Plus, it's gorgeous.

As for the backsplash, we suggest white subway tile, a white mosaic, or even more marble, as shown below:

I agree with the previous commenter. Using a different color paint on the island cabinets will create a nice, subtle design accent and then using the same counter tops throughout will give your kitchen space the needed continuity. Great choice, it will be beautiful.

Hi Few points: 1. It's not an independent residential apartment. It is a flat in a 25storey block 2. I have attached the floor plan for reference. The entrance is not too huge. 3. It's good to know that you guys have liked the Bathroom & kitchen design. The tiling work is in progress and it has come out well. I will take few snaps and post 4. When I say resort look - I understand and mean a simplistic natural looking design. More towards wood, nature, green, matt finish etc... Hope i am not confusing anyone here 5. Do you think the bathroom & kitchen design gels with what I mean by resort look. 6. The foyer area is a small (not too big) entrance. It's like a passage as you can see in the pics I posted earlier. When you enter you don't see the entire living room rather you see the wall (kitchen wall), where we intend to keep our dining table. Some thoughts on designing that wall is also requested Thanks!

Thanks for your comments, its great to discuss with houzers! You are so right @decoenthusiaste the view is beautiful and one reason why I chose the apartment. the room is longer than it is wide, and I wanted the kitchen/bar to be included in the seating so the attached pic is how I was planning to lay it out. @cdrdesign I can't/change the table, its a gorgeous mahogany piece I had custom made and one I see keeping for some years yet! I dont plan a TV in this room, will put it in another room. This room in for living and entertaining guests. Sorry I dont have layout software, so you will have to make do with my scribbles using powerpoint! Could really do with help on choosing the light fitting in place of the central fan- what would look nice here or should I wait till the furniture gets here to choose the light to match?

I would stick with same counters throughout in this beautiful kitchen. Consider using grey grout when installing your white subway backsplash

Thank you all so much - I am seeing it all together in my head. I'm going with white cabinets on perimeter, grey island with Cambria Brittanica on all counters. As for back splash - very tough decision!!! I love the subway with grey grout idea and that may be best choice as I love to cook as does my 13 yr old daughter and it can get messy! But I also love the idea of a hexagon, herringbone design or mosaic to make it a bit more interesting...have any of you heard of Aurea Stone? New quartz product? Looks like Cambria Brittanica but much cheaper...

Do you suggest polished or brushed hardware? And I would like to do pendant lights over island - I have a pot rack there now which I need to get rid of as kitchen is not very big. Any suggestions on type or size of pendant lights - island is 66x36
