Need opinions on what wall color should I put

I am a rookie, just bought this house n still can't figure out what kind of color is the wood, and most of all, what color should I put on d wall, or should I just paint the wood white?

Comments (4)Your second photo brings me right to the stairwell scene in Hitchcock's "Vertigo," although I realize I'm looking up, not down. It's really rather wonderful. Comments (3)The tile person should be able to demo and replace the tile. Most should know how to do drywall sufficiently enough to clean up their own mess. Most wallpaper people also patch walls and paint. There will be other things that need to be done, but between those two people they can lead you in the right direction. Just make sure to get this information before you start with a clear understanding of what those two are willing to do, and have it all planned out ahead of time. Comments (2)Hi there! first I would recommend placing your sofa along the length to elongate your room. Your rug should be large enough so at least the two front legs of your sofa go over it. For low maintenance consider something with a print that will hide stains. For eg in my dining room I have a kilim that can take spills. You could also consider an outdoor rug (which you can wash) or something in a low key fabric like sisal/ jute. The latter will be inexpensive if you need to replace it. If you think that looks plain you can layer a smaller print rug over it to add textures to your room. All the best!...See More

10 years agoThank u guys, The floor tiles are those old style small white with a bit dirty grey, I do want to paint all the trims n doors white and then put some colors on the wall. But I am overwhelmed by how many walls are there, need to come out with a series of colors to distinguish different function of the rooms, but still same theme, any suggestions? Ps, we do get a lot of lights here.

10 years agoYour kitchen/eating area not only has light, but also different wall and ceiling planes. If you like a modern vibe why not try experimenting with different greys that have a brown undertone? Then accessorize with color. The tile grout can be altered.
