Do not buy electrolux products

We bought this Electrolux front loading washer 2 years ago because of its high ratings. It has turned out to be a full blown disaster. There are only two of us, so it is used very little. It has been down three times in two years. This last time, it was under the extended warranty, which we took out because of the repair issues. It has been over two weeks and the dryer is still not repaired. The Electrolux contractor is too busy to pick up the part and fix it. I have been on the phone endlessly with both electrolux and the contractor. They tell me they will call me back when it is resolved. I have never gotten a call or had a visit scheduled to fix it. DO NOT BUY ELECTROLUX products.

This is not electroluxes problem this is a bad repairman who is too lazy to go get a part.Most repairmen are not exclusive to one manufacturer so not sure what you mean by electrolux contractor.

Wait...who are you using to fix the machines?

Are you using the seller you bought it from?

Who is this "contractor"?

I would use the sellers repair department first. If that's not an option (some sellers don't fix what they sell), use any reputable appliance repair company. They would work with your extended warranty and Electrolux.

The one who is dropping the ball is the "contractor". Forget him and use any repair facility you want.

I have to say that well made Roman Shades are not cheap, they are the higher end of the market. Secondly the thing to consider is that they are an all or nothing product, they are either open or closed. What part of the country do you live in? What direction do the windows face, and how often are those doors used? Drapery that can not be moved completely out of the way will get caught in the doors all the time, so while I hate taking out a window for any reason, removing it might make sense as it seems rather redundant. Don't do any type of venetian if this door is used a lot, and if you do, make sure you do an outside mount, allowing for the stack to go above the frame of the doors when they are open. I suggest that you look into Hunter Douglas Polysatin Shutters, they are great on french doors, and the Hunter Douglas Duette Architella Vertiglide is perfect on doors, they also come as a duo light, meaning you can put two blinds into one product - so a sheer and an opaque or semi-opaque product. Just some thoughts to consider.

I would use a white canvas roman shade on the window with an outside mount and mount it exactly the same height as the top of the fabric of the shower curtain. Use the same fabric on the shower curtain and do contrasting banding along the bottom of the roman shade and across the middle of the shower curtain at the same height. You can add other colors of banding from that height down to the bottom of the curtain. You can buy sunbrella acrylic fabric in extra wide panels so you don't have seams on the shower curtain. I did one in a cabin that looked like an indian trading blanket. It was fabulous.

I am aware of a Singapore e-commerce brand called Bed and Basics and you could consider them if you are looking to have a home enhancement or refurbishment in future! They sell an extensive range of furniture and their products are actually really affordable compared to other brands, hence I would highly recommend them. Some of their sofas are in line with what you are seeking (luxurious), so perhaps you could take a look if you are interested!

We bought the ELECTROLUX extended warranty after the second break down. Mistake. Contractor doesn't care and neither does Electrolux. Worse than the government.

This is an Electrolux washing machine extended service agreement. They are totally unhelpful. NEVER buy their products. Customer service is a joke. They have scheduled me for next week, three weeks after first being contacted!!!!!

My latest note to them:Your company has still done absolutely nothing to get my machine fixed.

You obviously care nothing at all about your customers!

I have an Electrolux and no issues. I only buy my products from a seller who actually has a service department. Again, never had any issues with the products they sell or their service department.

I have an Electrolux dishwasher, and very pleased years later. I do agree with the others that a reliable service department in your area is a must no matter which brand you ultimately choose. I really could have saved a couple hundred dollars on my new washer by going to home depot or lowes, but I would have missed out on the connection to the service that I trust at my local mom and pop store.

There are negative stories about every single brand out there. Don't get me started on Whirlpool's products or "customer service."

People who are satisfied rarely post about products.

Elextrolux also owns Frigidaire (which used to be owned by GM), Eureka, Westinghouse, Philco, Tappan, and lots more. In this conglomerate world, it's hard to know who really owns what.

I cannot imagine worse service than LG. On July 1st we had an LG front loading washer and dryer installed by Sears. The washer leaks intermittently. Sears sent repair men out 5 times. They replaced the washer. Still leaks. They verified that it was not a problem with the installation and since it was then outside Sears' warranty, they said to contact LG. Talking with the overseas LG customer service is challenging because of the language barrier and their policies. I even tried working with the US location in Alabama and got nowhere with their customer service professionals. An outstanding LG technician came out multiple times and replaced several parts. He was unable to duplicate the leaking. Water doesn't reach the front right underneath except on my laundry day when I wash 4-8 loads. He thinks it's because the washer has design flaws that cause it to leak when I use the normal amount of HE detergent and when parts get clogged from pet hair, residue, etc. He said that these units are extremely particular and require a lot of extra maintenance. I cannot fill the detergent to the "normal" line, I need to wipe down the entire interior and gasket after use, regularly clean out the drain pipe, and run the machine clean cycle using only a standard machine clean powder (but only a fraction of the recommended amount). One of the customer service calls took an hour because they talked me through all the things that could go wrong and they reiterated the requirement to wipe down the inside and gasket and to use less than the recommended amounts of detergent. They said I might have damaged the unit because I used bleach for the machine clean cycle. When I told them I followed the manual directions that said "bleach or machine cleaner", she told me the manual is wrong and needs updating. Because the unit is so finicky, I don't dare have my teen son or husband do laundry. Fortunately it's only leaked once in the past month since I've been following all their instructions.

I will never buy LG again, especially since the local repair guy told me the inside scoop on LG designs/engineering being a bad fit for the US consumer. He said he has been with them for just a few months. Before he was with Sears and fixed a variety of appliance brands. He thinks LG is the worst because of how easy it is for things to go wrong with them. He said that LG will not admit to a design flaw and will just keep replacing parts to honor their warranty.

I had zero problems with our former Whirlpool Duet that we had for 10 years until it sold with the house. I did not do any maintenance and had four teenagers doing their own laundry. I didn't see the amount of pet hair on the gasket either that I do with the LG. The only thing I did with the Duet is leave the door ajar after I did laundry so it would fully dry. Since we didn't need any repairs, I have no experience with Whirlpool's customer service.

from day one my electrolux washer had problems - broken down from beginning - 3times service came and could only fix temporarily and it broke down again. Out of 6 months owning the machine it was unusable for weeks at a time waiting for repair. I am waiting again for parts and they estimate 3 weeks to get parts in and then a week for a tech to come out!!!! The electrolux customer service - if they ever answer the phone- are rude and one even laughed at me when i said i wanted an exchange. It is the worst washing machine I have ever had- and terrible customer service.
