Hi Crystal,

This is a beautifully designed and constructed all Redwood play set that adults can appreciate. With architectural set of plans, engineering and permits you should budget 20K plus. Kids would have just as much fun with a more budget version. See "Blum Park" in my portfolio.

You already have your accent colour as your sofa pillows (log roll pillows). I would take one of them shopping with me to get a rug that has that colour in it. It doesn't need to be a lot of that colour (I love the idea of burgandy rug here...but it might be too much with your monotone scheme). You can find a large rug that incorporates that red/raspberry in it so that you have a colour that is now your accent.

Wood dye is different than stain - I never worked with it but I think it soaks into the grain a lot more than stain which sits more on top. Make sure you try it out first on a scrap piece of oak (or the underside of your table).

Yes you do have to. You have to put aside budgets for - Furniture (e.g sofas, chairs, tables etc.) - Appliances (stove, hood, hob, oven, refrigerator, fans, washing machine, dryer, TV) - Air-conditioning (installation and the aircon itself) - Soft furnishing (throw pillows, rugs, lamps) - Lighting - Fixtures (tiles, built-in cabinets, built-in wardrobes, false ceiling etc.) - Painting - Interior design and construction fees (if you are hiring someone). In my experience, the fixtures, appliances and furniture adds up to the bulk of the cost. I have a 5-room BTO too, without tiles, and it cost about 30,000++, but only because we did not do false ceilings, and lighting, and spent most of our money on the appliances. We also relied heavily on soft furnishings (rugs) and designerish furniture to liven up our space.

Hi Lucas,

We are a Design & Build Landscape firm creating personalized Indoor/Outdoor lifestyles for Los Angeles West Side homeowners. Blum Park features a sports entertainment pavilion, picnic and BBQ yard, a full basketball court with lounge viewing and kids playground. A trail and road leads up to the main residence near the top of a hill. We created this for a young couple and their two young kids to safely enjoy at home with their friends and family.
