What is the wattage on the bulb?

Just wondering how bright the light is in lumens on this product, and what kind of batteries it takes.

Ellen - thanks for your interest in a Mini-spot.

Approximate lumens are 55 on high and 28 on low but I do caution that this is not necessarily the best way to think of art lighting. Instead, we recommend a Mini-spot for artwork up to 24" wide x 20" tall. We use specialty optics in our lights that are designed for more "useful" light. This is something not captured in lumens.

This light is rechargeable (charger included) so replacement batteries are not needed.

Hi, Could you add a pic of the lounge area outside bedrooms? There seem to be too many palettes of colours within furniture from white tv cabinet to dark brown book shelf to light brown dining to black/blue/beige sitting pieces. Tie up sitting by adding few cushions in possibly black/white/blue combo. Extend sitting area of living through the entire span of AC wall. You need a larger rug for this space. Angle dining table between 30 to 45 degrees with long length between detached counter corner to bookshelf end towards lounge. This will add the flow to lounge. Add a table runner along the centre of the long length. You need larger artwork pics or a collection of art pieces on living room wall behind beige sofa. Lounge can have a console and wall with a composition of family picture frames to personalise space. Remove blue artwork in the last pic. Instead, you can add a composition of wall shelves with artefacts on them or wall hooks with hanging artefacts. Rugs, table lamps, floor lamps and few bold decorative pieces will add the required warmth. A round centre table in the living room can be good.

When planning lighting, think first about how the room will be used. Are you writing exams or mopping floors? Bright light works. Are you highlighting art work? consider the distance from the light source to the artwork to select a light level and beam focus that gives the gallery effect (which is carefully configured to avoid light damage). Focus on the effect of light ahead of the fixture, and consider that table lamps can offer both accent and task lighting. Consider cool versus warm light, and the opportunity to use both to highlight different features. Uplights and downlights can add drama. As Fred notes, it all depends on what you want and need in a given space.

Especially in 50's and 60's houses, they often went through and put one kind of fixture, in the center of every room and the halls, and they were two bulb rectangular flat glass, frosted, sort of fluted edges and a simple (wheat pattern is what I grew up with) and they caught every bug around. I understand wanting variety, sometimes it may be the way to give a unified look to the house. Those look a lot more than the typical inexpensive utilitarian lights though.
