Need help in designing Foyer Area
Comments (28)Hi Few points: 1. It's not an independent residential apartment. It is a flat in a 25storey block 2. I have attached the floor plan for reference. The entrance is not too huge. 3. It's good to know that you guys have liked the Bathroom & kitchen design. The tiling work is in progress and it has come out well. I will take few snaps and post 4. When I say resort look - I understand and mean a simplistic natural looking design. More towards wood, nature, green, matt finish etc... Hope i am not confusing anyone here 5. Do you think the bathroom & kitchen design gels with what I mean by resort look. 6. The foyer area is a small (not too big) entrance. It's like a passage as you can see in the pics I posted earlier. When you enter you don't see the entire living room rather you see the wall (kitchen wall), where we intend to keep our dining table. Some thoughts on designing that wall is also requested Thanks!...See MoreNeed help for our kitchen
Comments (3)Thanks a lot for your prompt reply!! Though your idea is excellent,We cannot keep both the fridge together as it is taking all my work space .I am hardly left with any counter space if you go by dimensions. I will be looking forward to more of your brilliant ideas!!! .Thanks a million once again!...See MoreReclaimed wood
Comments (3)Hi EJ, I'm not going to be of much help, but I believe the obvious sources of reclaimed wood would be demolition and removal specialists in Singapore? At least that's how I know how antique dealers source vintage tiles in Singapore. Chatting with reclaimed wood furniture specialists like Journey East (https://www.houzz.com.sg/pro/journeyeast) might help too. And its true shipping costs from overseas would be prohibitive. Malaysia has always been this country's hinterland for raw material, and Indonesia has also played the part of being a significant sourcing ground for furniture makers in the region. You might want to (or have already) make sourcing trips to Central Java or Bali where costs might even be significantly lower than finding these pieces in Singapore....See MoreHelp spicing up a small rental apartment and hiding ugly meter box
Comments (10)Thanks everyone for the great comments!! I’ve decided to incorporate everyone’s comments. 1) Using Nippon rememberance for the wall color 2) Using pastel curtains with 3M to cover the ugly door and meter box 3) Making my own night stand from books 4) Getting a big art piece for the side wall 5) Putting a 55 inch TV at the foot of my bed for well, extravagance Some quick questions... 1) what color curtains and table top work best with this shade of grey? For the table top, I might get a fresh piece of wood and laminate myself. 2) what modern frame do you recommend for this wall and this kind of art, or should I drop the frame, and innovate, maybe just get a big piece of plastic and glue the sides? ;) 3) any fun ideas for the TV stand? I don’t want to rent a minivan just to transport the tv stand, and the space between my bed and the planned curtain is tiny - like 45cm. So I’m thinking of an adhoc tv stand and stabilising it in a different way. :) Ok, you guys have been super crazy helpful! Thank you so much, I’ll share photos (hopefully not too embarrassing) when I’m done!...See MorePamela Hiltner
