Living room update /WITH DIMENSIONS. UPDATE

I am thinking of replacing the console/cabinet below TV with an oak cabinet with a less traditonal look….couch is new and really only other change at this time could be new rug….or change the chair as well………need suggestions…..i am including photo of adjacent kitchen area this is a greatly used space……would love a cocktail table but not a huge space……THE SPACE IS 15.4 FT X 14.5 FT Any ideas so appreciated thank you

The blue seems to be the odd man out in your room. It is too small for that size TV so looks awkward. Console should be 25% wider than TV for balance.

Can we get measurements of the room that include openings and windows.? Also, please give us a picture of the room with your back to the French doors. That would help a lot. Thank you and best wishes.

Hi, Could you add a pic of the lounge area outside bedrooms? There seem to be too many palettes of colours within furniture from white tv cabinet to dark brown book shelf to light brown dining to black/blue/beige sitting pieces. Tie up sitting by adding few cushions in possibly black/white/blue combo. Extend sitting area of living through the entire span of AC wall. You need a larger rug for this space. Angle dining table between 30 to 45 degrees with long length between detached counter corner to bookshelf end towards lounge. This will add the flow to lounge. Add a table runner along the centre of the long length. You need larger artwork pics or a collection of art pieces on living room wall behind beige sofa. Lounge can have a console and wall with a composition of family picture frames to personalise space. Remove blue artwork in the last pic. Instead, you can add a composition of wall shelves with artefacts on them or wall hooks with hanging artefacts. Rugs, table lamps, floor lamps and few bold decorative pieces will add the required warmth. A round centre table in the living room can be good.

Constance and the Creative Mind Design team, you've done an amazing job in restoring a heritage house, and shining a light on a precious family story! The original house is clearly well built for the environment: large overhanging roof, windows tucked neatly under. Love the rusticated exterior and the big arches in the porte cochere too. Haunted only to those who don't know the story! I also love that the original house has been updated to serve the needs of the current, without forgetting the past. Those pink mosaic tiles and wrought iron grilles fit in very nicely in the new house. The airwell seems to bridge the new and old worlds perfectly too.

Hi Rhonda, i also recently redid my terrace and installed a wet and dry island in my kitchen. As for your floor plan, if you're willing to consider tearing down the maid's room and moving it to the back, it will free up a lot of space for your dry kitchen/dining area. A bit unconventional, but you can also install the island in between the 2 pillars that are in the center. You can then install pot racks or wine glass holders on top of your island. You have two stools where a table could be so there's room. My question is where are the chairs they 'go with'? I assume they are there for extra seating in a pinch but are they functioning well most of the time? The tray perched precariously and in appears they are taller than the sofa seat, so I'm thinking they do not.

It's unclear as to why you are saving a corner at the sofa for lanterns and other "stuff", and why the tv and console you now have, are jammed to a corner!

Draw and measure the space, show where the kitchen/dining is. All the walls, windows, openings in feet and inches, Please

Upload that as a very legible j peg.

If you're going to keep the blue console, then we might recommend making sure to integrate the color throughout your room. If going for an oak one, then your color palette should continue to work well. Just look at getting a longer, low console if going for the oak one. Below are some visuals to aid you more.
