How long did it take to have this roof installed?

I have really been wanting to get a new roof. It seems like so much work though and like it would take a long time. I have been looking into vancouver roofer. Hopefully I can find the right company for the job. Thank you so much for sharing the information.

Your roof seems to be in good condition. A good standing seam metal roof should last fifty years. Why are you thinking of changing or redoing it?

Thanks, lefty47. This is an older home, and just as One Plan guessed it is a soil stack from the upstairs bathroom. You are probably right that the cost of a custom solution may outweigh the benefits. Another idea I had, along the lines of the worktop bin suggested by One Plan, is a recessed spatula and long-handled utensil holder. I found out that Lee Valley sells motorized tv lift kits like the one used in the video above. It would be a matter of getting the contractor to build the box to go on the lift. I'm still a bit hung up on the idea, though it probably falls into your cost-outweighs-benefit category! I may bring this photo around with me when interviewing prospective contractors, just to see how they answer!

I love your design I have a similar terrace that I always thought to install a trellis, but was never sure how it would look and yours looks great. On the floor a wanted to install the interlocking wood squares, but I'm afraid that they are too high maintenance. Any comments?

Beside the sequence of events, you need to know the timeline as in how long for each stage. Start selecting your tiles and sanitary wares for your kitchen and toilets as it will take sometime to agree (I am assuming you have to discuss with your family) on the colors and design of the tiles, the type of taps, mixers etc. Also think about where you want to locate your switches and lightings. If you are getting refrigerator with auto ice maker, you need to decide the position as well so your contractor put a water and power point near it. All these take a lot time for decision when you have a few persons to discuss and decide. Dun get into a situation where your contractor tells you they are waiting for you to get to the next stage and put the delay to you and you will be forced to make hasty decisions. No lah, it's important your hubby has his own relaxation area just like you'd have your lounge area. :) Sometimes we need to have our own spaces. Does your hubby not want the entertainment system to be in the living room? If you're worried about the sight of electronics marring your decor, your ID should be able to come up with clever spaces/tricks to store consoles and hide wires. Here's the arrangement in my home: our tv, soundbar, subwoofer and PS4 are in the living room. Having them in the living room comes in useful for guests if we all want to watch a movie, or if they sometimes want to have a go at the PS4 (I sometimes play too!). In our bedroom, we have a Wi-Fi speaker (that integrates with the sound system in the living room) and a PC with a huge desktop monitor for my hubby's PC games or general computer usage. But all the appliances are not an eyesore at all because they're sleek and my hubby is very neat when it comes to cable management. Anyway, think about your routine and imagine yourselves using the spaces you want to create to get a better idea of how to create them. :)

Or is this just your inspiration picture? I may have misunderstood. A metal roof should be professionally installed. Get several bids, of course.
