Need help picking chandelier.

I have a very open floor plan with living room, foyer, dining room and kitchen being one open room. I would like to find a light fixture that goes with the other rooms. I have two I have narrowed it down to. Other ideas are welcome. We have 16' coffered ceiling and the living room is 19 by 23 with stacked stone fire place. Does it need to match? What do you think?

Perhaps two simple drum pendants over the living room area. Center them on each side of the TV, suspended about 8' or 9' high.

Something simple, like this:

I would not have three different busy lights. Try a simpler design on one .

You already have your accent colour as your sofa pillows (log roll pillows). I would take one of them shopping with me to get a rug that has that colour in it. It doesn't need to be a lot of that colour (I love the idea of burgandy rug here...but it might be too much with your monotone scheme). You can find a large rug that incorporates that red/raspberry in it so that you have a colour that is now your accent.

I would get rid of that pendant. Here's one link to industrial pendant lights http://www.houzz.com/industrial-pendants Pick a light that you like and show it to your landlord. I bet she/he will say yes to your suggestion since pendant lights can easily be changed. In fact, if there's already a really secure junction box there already i bet they may even go with a ceiling fan light combo if that's what you really want

Assuming you want a light for the family room, I vote no chandy in there at all.

Look into LED lighting, to lower your bills.

I would suggest doing recess lighting in there to avoid clashing with the lights you have in the other rooms

unfortunately, recessed cans will not really do much on that ceiling height...especially on a sloped ceiling. A chandelier will certainly help add light into the room. I don't think it has to exactly match the others. I would stick with a similar finish and style though...I think what you picked are actually great choices! Go with your gut...they are beautiful options and will blend well with the others....again the space is separated and defined pretty well, so it can have it's own identity. the arched wall separate the spaces enough to where you can do something a little different. Here are also idea that a little outside of the box. think about adding some layers of light. you can do this several ways...you can add up-lighting on the tops of the cabinets. Consider LED strip lighting for easy installation, long life and virtually no maintenance. you can also add "puck lights" inside the top shelves to embellish the layers. It's hard to tell from the photos provided, but if you have any available wall space, the addition of a few wall sconces can bring some better light in to the room.

Recessed down lighting will most definitely light this room, even with the high ceilings, if you would like an additional recommendation. They could be combined with a chandelier if you would like. The important thing to remember is to select a recessed down light with a broad distribution such as Lightolier Lytecaster down lighting. I like to use the 5" aperture downlignt, with 100w or equal CFL or LED light bulb. I would recommend 9 fixtures if you do not use a chandelier, less if you add the chandelier. If the ceiling is sloped, Lightolier also has down lighting for sloped ceiling conditions. Add dimmer switches for additional control. Good luck.
