Event Report: See Houzz Singapore's Launch Party
With over 150,000 unique users from Singapore, it was only a matter of time before the global design platform arrived at the Little Red Dot
On 12 April, 2016, Singapore-based users of Houzz, or Houzzers as they are more fondly known, turned on their favourite design platform and saw Singapore flag-printed balloons on the Houzz logo. Then they noticed the Singapore stories. Houzz Singapore, houzz.com.sg, had gone live.
Here’s how we celebrated, together with more than a hundred Pros from the over-3,000 local Pros who had already been using Houzz to showcase their portfolios, communicate with clients and get inspiration.

Houzz Singapore, led by vice president for International Operations Thomas Clayton (third, from right) and managing director of Houzz Asia Pacific Jason Chuck (second, from right), celebrated the beginning of the launch party in front of the black-and-white colonial bungalow that was our house for the day.
Houzz slippers welcomed guests at the foyer, which was all decked out in vintage Singapore style.
The living room served as the stage area and photo wall for the evening’s programme.
Furniture from Ethnicraft Online and accessories from Crate & Barrel, Danish Design Co and Kuhl Home fit beautifully in the black-and-white house’s reception rooms.
We even had a Clare Haxby black-and-white house framed print to enhance the interiors of the actual black-and-white house.
To complete the look were our signature Houzz product tags identifying the different pieces.
Houzz Singapore team shared a quiet moment before the doors opened to let in over a hundred pros who celebrated with us that evening.

In the dining room, account coordinators Koey and Choo demonstrated the features of Houzz Singapore to pros.
Koey showed designer Amilia Gani of Facelift Design & Interiors the all-new localised Houzz Singapore.
Jonathan Roelandts and Katrien Bollen from Ethnicraft Online took a look at Houzz Singapore.
The ladies from Danish Design Co explored alfresco seating at the house’s backyard.
Chuck and Clayton performed the traditional house opening ceremony with rice and thehongbao (red packet) after giving welcome remarks.
Pros from Topos Design Studio, W. Atelier, Dream, Ence Marketing and Cosentino gave their thumbs up!
