Room Tour: A Pretty-in-Pink Nursery for Twin Girls
Dainty touches and a functional layout make this shared space cosy and practical for a pair of newborns
“The owners of this condo apartment had one child at the time and were expecting twins, hence the pink nursery,” says Priya Naik, design director of Interior Design Journey. They wanted to keep the existing carpentry work and ensure that the basics – two cots with attached changing table, chair for nursing, and a dresser for baby clothes – could fit into this compact room, while transforming the space into a special room for the new arrivals.
The designer left the original wardrobe with trimmings and ceramic door knobs as is. Wall shadow boxes not only create more surface for displaying cute knick-knacks, but also add depth to the wall.
Pattern and personality are highlighted through well-thought-out details. “The paper decorations, which I sourced while on a holiday in Tokyo, were handmade by us. These really complete the space along with the cute throw pillows that match,” says Naik.

France holds special meaning for the couple – the husband studied there, and the couple both speak French. “I was part of the baby shower planning team as the client is a friend, and I came up with a Parisian theme. These mini Eiffel Tower figures were part of the baby shower decor, which we repurposed as nursery decor,” shares Naik.
Little cutesy details dot the room, enhancing the feminine charm. Small linen-covered boxes provide tidy storage.

Pale colours flow throughout this home, so the nursery was kept to the same neutral palette. The flooring was stained in a darker colour for a warm contrast.
Pretty silk drapes with a subtle alphabet pattern were chosen for the night drapes, while white sheers allow daylight to stream in.
