1904:
Combining solid oak, aged metal and cast aluminium, 1904 refers to the workshops of the early XX century and to the dawn of the industrial era. This collection takes the quality of materials and unites it with the power of the design.

After measuring and considering the ergonomics we designed Dining Room and Lounge Schemes that flowed into each and which could be seen from both rooms. Carl Hansen walnut and oak mixed dining table and chairs with buttery leather worked wonders with this blue sideboard and matching tall glass cabinet. These were perfect for storing the various travel collectables this couple owned. Contemporary flat weave rugs were used to bring this scheme together. Haynes Interiors sourced, ordered and installed all goods for this lovely Barbican apartment.

This bespoke solid oak table was designed to balance practicality with craftsmanship.
Compact when closed, it features a concealed extension mechanism and an integrated drawer, allowing it to adapt easily while maintaining a clean, traditional appearance.
Crafted entirely from quarter-sawn European oak, the piece showcases traditional joinery throughout, with a focus on strength, durability, and attention to detail. The use of quarter-sawn timber helps minimise movement in changing conditions, making it particularly well-suited to its position within a sunny garden room. The natural medullary rays within the oak also enhance the character of the finished piece.
The table incorporates a hidden sliding extension system, allowing both sides to open smoothly. Brass hinges and high-quality runners have been carefully fitted to ensure long-term reliability and ease of use. The extending leaves are supported by hinged brackets, which recess neatly into the frame when not in use.
An integrated drawer provides additional functionality without disrupting the overall design, while the base has been carefully shaped and constructed to provide both strength and visual balance.
The design draws inspiration from the early 19th century Arts and Crafts movement, combining traditional principles with a practical, considered approach suited to modern living.
Every element has been thoughtfully resolved, not just for how it looks, but for how it performs over time.

An interior feature using rust. Oxidising iron paint and using many, many layers of paint with oxidising application we get a very warm and cosy environment. Suits the natural hardwood furniture this country home is inviting.
