A Remodel of Necessity. This home was destroyed by a chimney fire during the 2009 holiday season. With significant damage to the home's flat roof, main floor living room and dining room, and its upper level master suite, the homeowners were facing a complete renovation. The homeowners decided that it made sense to remodel the home's antiquated kitchen at the same time, so by the end of the project's design phase, nearly every inch of the home was touched by the remodel. Built in the heart of South Minneapolis, this classic farmhouse-style family home utilizes reclaimed items from the homeowner's farm. Per the homeowner’s request, extra large, 8-foot windows from Integrity® were selected to bring abundant amounts of natural light into the home—even during the cold short days of winter in Minnesota. In addition to the generous amount of light pouring into the home’s 4,500 finished square feet of living space, the windows are highly energy efficient and require very low maintenance for the homeowner
