My first house! Need your insightful advice!
Comments (19)I very much agree with what Beverly said regarding adding shutters to your home. You don't have the space on either side of the windows to accommodate appropriately sized shutters. Awnings would definitely be an option. Since you're in the Caribbean, you can add color by using a brightly striped awning. One shutter option that you could consider would be a Bahama Shutter. Since they mount at the top of the windows, you wouldn't have any problem adding them if you like....See MoreDesign for a 495 sq ft unit
Comments (2)HI Eileen, First of all CONGRATULATIONS on your new home ownership. Now comes the time to design your home lifestyle that you want and need. As small as the space is, remember that you are not alone in this predicament. Homes are becoming smaller and smaller as they become more and more expensive and that is a fact. Eileen, you could still customise your space and turn it into the home of your dreams. In saying that, you would need to have some idea of what style, concept or interiors and or space that you would like or dream of ? If not, ask for help from a professional who can relate to your wants and likes. Start with looking at ideas from interior magazines or right here on Houzz. Houzz has some great pictures that gives one inspiration to design your ideal home. Keep in mind that every idea and design comes with a price. So set your budget and communicate all that with your designer. Gather your ideas and speak to a professional who will gladly help you. Do you have a floor plan? CONGRATULATIONS again. Comments (8)3D mock up renderings have become the norm these days and do help to win over most of clients. Its become part of our work process in Singapore. Its all about what the market is used to. Back home in South Africa and most other countries we work in, its unheard of still and we manage to convince our clients with hand sketches and 2D drawings. Singapore has a technologically advanced society and we have to keep up with what our clients want. Most of our clients receive a 3D animation walk through video like this. Some clients are still not able to visualise and demand to show them more. The point i am trying to make is, when do we show enough? Maybe one day we will print 3D presentations? One never knows what technology is going to bring tomorrow and how our world changes. Enjoy the video and tell me if you are able to visualise the space as we designed?...See MoreWhere to buy living room furniture?
Comments (5)I am aware of a Singapore e-commerce brand called Bed and Basics and you could consider them if you are looking to have a home enhancement or refurbishment in future! They sell an extensive range of furniture and their products are actually really affordable compared to other brands, hence I would highly recommend them. Some of their sofas are in line with what you are seeking (luxurious), so perhaps you could take a look if you are interested!...See More- 8 years ago
