Need help on Desk Colour!
Comments (5)Hi again. I see where Dytecture is going with this. It's hard to say, really, because the only existing colour you mentioned was white. Once you put something coloured or dark in the space, your eye will zoom past the white and look at the colour or the visual weight of the piece. When I was recommending something white or colourless (glass and metal), I had in mind that you probably don't want to make the desk your only feature. I would recommend having your desk as a functional piece that blends with the decor, but I would definitely add punches of colour elsewhere. Large colourful artworks on the walls, a couple of bold colour-blocked cushions on the sofa (see Dytecture's first picture above), a grouping of three very tall boldly coloured vases (different heights), and so on. These will give you the pizzazz you're looking for. In an otherwise white apartment, a dark or coloured desk is still not going to give you much style or impact....See MoreLOST - color and look match
Comments (14)I also have an overwhelming need to see something curvy, flirtatious and round in the space. Consider this when scouting for decor and accesory items (i.e. round rug, curvy fluid light fixtures). Also, would it be a complete abomination to sand down the furniture (so it looks older) or painting it a new color before upholstering to modernize it? I agree with j222b's suggestion in that the furniture and space could benefit from some eclectic coverings but perhaps a neutral fabric against a new color that could bring out the carving of the wood could work too? In my head I see a rusty orange or deep aubergine purple or rich dark green. Just a thought......See MoreWhite themed bathroom ... How to warm it up?
Comments (8)I really like pale grayish sage with white. Also a cool greenish aqua for a soothing look to the bath. White or gray Corian counter. If it's a low-use bath such as a powder room, white marble would be lovely for the counter. Rug or mat on the floor with a nice pattern to hide spills, dog hair, etc. If you have a window, lovely drapes, custom shade or match-stick blinds would help warm the space. Finally, if you have a bathtub, a custom shower curtain will really dress up the space and add character/warmth. Look at drapes as well as shower curtains on Houzz to get inspiration. https://www.houzz.com/photos/custom-shower-curtain-phbr0lbl-bl~l_43312 Consider the space across from the toilet & hang a piece of art there if possible....See MoreColor advice to match Brown leather sofa
Comments (8)These are the color we are going to choose from. Our living room got one side is all window as shown in the picture. One side has two doors towards kitchen and a small storage room. We would like to put the Sofa in the middle to divide the living room into living area and dining area. Also we would like to paint the wall into a different shades than the rest of the room. Any recommendations?...See Moreacm
