Living Area Layout - Dilemma
Comments (8)Hi Dagobert Duck (interesting name), I am assuming that this is a townhouse in Asia, as you mention the dry kitchen and wet kitchen (terms used mostly in Singapore) and also from the visible lift on the plan that you shared. I would definitly advice you to keep the dry kitchen and place the dining table close to the dry kitchen or close to the bay window on the left. The space here is rather large and can easily accommodate a regular 2 metre table with 8 chairs. If you are concerned about the view of dining table as you enter the house, you could always place a round table near the entrance to block off the view. I agree with Elaine about placing the furniture away from walls. Place a bunch of fresh flowers or art/sculpture above the round table like in a hotel entrance. So the the first view you see when you enter the house is the table with flowers. Its difficult to give you any further advice as we have no idea what your final vision of the place is? Feel free to contact us in Singapore if you need further advice? Hope you will have the home of your dreams soon....See MoreAnyway I can work around with this layout? Seems like pretty limited.
Comments (10)HI Callen Aw, Congratulations on your new home! You must be very excited to start renovations based on your wish list and ideas of what you want and need in your space. Most apartments today are rather small but not necessarily limited in what one can achieve. It all depends on what you want from the space. I would suggest you gathers your thoughts and speak to a reliable designer and contractor who will be able to help you design the home of your dreams. http://www.sugarbakers.asia...See MoreIs a full 3D-mockup absolutely essential?
Comments (8)3D mock up renderings have become the norm these days and do help to win over most of clients. Its become part of our work process in Singapore. Its all about what the market is used to. Back home in South Africa and most other countries we work in, its unheard of still and we manage to convince our clients with hand sketches and 2D drawings. Singapore has a technologically advanced society and we have to keep up with what our clients want. Most of our clients receive a 3D animation walk through video like this. Some clients are still not able to visualise and demand to show them more. The point i am trying to make is, when do we show enough? Maybe one day we will print 3D presentations? One never knows what technology is going to bring tomorrow and how our world changes. Enjoy the video and tell me if you are able to visualise the space as we designed?...See MoreHelp with a 5R HDB Layout
Comments (15)Hi Miaw, ok your plan looking good. some comments. 1. would you consider a smaller foyer. some suspense at entry before the wow moment 2. island can be bigger where you can put your sink and some stools. 3. I think some walls not necessary to make it feel more space 4. that store room blocking the window, would you like to open this to bring more natural light, fresher by cross ventilation air moving from one window and out to other. 5. the common bathroom is outside at wet kitchen really? Anyway I think that open kitchen would be fabulous with some rich stone finish !...See MorePrince Fafa
