HI Evan, I think you have answered your own question. A quick makeover usually involves acquiring some new furniture, change of curtains, fresh lick of paint or simply some new scatter cushions and a plant. It all depends on what you are looking for, how much you want to change and of course more importantly what your budget will allow. You could stretch the budget a little by perhaps painting only one wall and why not do it yourself and make it a little project and save money as well. Money that perhaps could be used for something else. Its not easy to give you an exact idea of a concept or budget unless we know what you want and would like from your space. Your existing pieces of furniture, curtains, art etc will play a huge part. That is if you decide to keep or change what you dont like? Is there some piece of furniture or art that you feel you need or want or would like? Browse through some magazines and scroll online for some great ideas. Gather some ideas and if you still are not certain then heed the help of a professional who might give you some ideas. Whether its a small makeover or a full on renovation, remember that every item adds up to your budget. So make certain of what you would like before you start. 3D mock up renderings have become the norm these days and do help to win over most of clients. Its become part of our work process in Singapore. Its all about what the market is used to. Back home in South Africa and most other countries we work in, its unheard of still and we manage to convince our clients with hand sketches and 2D drawings. Singapore has a technologically advanced society and we have to keep up with what our clients want. Most of our clients receive a 3D animation walk through video like this. Some clients are still not able to visualise and demand to show them more. The point i am trying to make is, when do we show enough? Maybe one day we will print 3D presentations? One never knows what technology is going to bring tomorrow and how our world changes. Enjoy the video and tell me if you are able to visualise the space as we designed?

Hi, I agree with Gary, do a hotel setting to make it more appealing. Here’s an idea. Remove the partition, move the closet down and add a big slider freeing up the space for a spacious bedroom with lounge seating/dining by the window. Think about the tv wall where it can have a proper work desk space. And do you have balcony? Perfect !

Hello, In 3 years time, you need to put back the wall since u have a 9 yrs old Son hitting teenager and expect own space or your girl would prefer her private space as girl and part of build self-respected lady. Beginning putting them together helps build bond and family strength. Best to start building independence early, makes your parenting easier. Build a home rather than a house. A space is meant to build relationship. With your family size, I would not suggest breaking wall. Extend living room, best is extending into balcony by creating same levels as living room. Now got zip blinds which seal aircon space within balcony open to living. Having glass showcase is good for your toys display. See idea from Ikea. For your new home starting, get basic done prosper. Basic means the essentials. For other parts, take your time and enjoy finding more ideas and shopping around till the great feeling comes to u. If not sure, I think Ikea has many combinations so if u do not like after few years, easy to do make-over. Expensive furniture is too painful to change. Ha! More space for bedroom? use the folding type beds and double as study table. I use platform bed like Japanese room. For Long dining tables, there are extendable type when guests comes. Ikea comes cheapest. There are premium in other Malls. Get extra chair that is stackable not foldable, hurt kids fingers and takes space. Have fun!
