Unfortunately we don't have the info on that - it was chosen by the owner's interior decorator.

When planning lighting, think first about how the room will be used. Are you writing exams or mopping floors? Bright light works. Are you highlighting art work? consider the distance from the light source to the artwork to select a light level and beam focus that gives the gallery effect (which is carefully configured to avoid light damage). Focus on the effect of light ahead of the fixture, and consider that table lamps can offer both accent and task lighting. Consider cool versus warm light, and the opportunity to use both to highlight different features. Uplights and downlights can add drama. Especially in 50's and 60's houses, they often went through and put one kind of fixture, in the center of every room and the halls, and they were two bulb rectangular flat glass, frosted, sort of fluted edges and a simple (wheat pattern is what I grew up with) and they caught every bug around. I understand wanting variety, sometimes it may be the way to give a unified look to the house. Those look a lot more than the typical inexpensive utilitarian lights though.

You need something more OTT. How about a totally Baroque, glossy black, ornate oval? See "18" Baroque mirror" in Houzz Shop for examples. (Some are lime green- ignore that. :-))

Yes you do have to. You have to put aside budgets for - Furniture (e.g sofas, chairs, tables etc.) - Appliances (stove, hood, hob, oven, refrigerator, fans, washing machine, dryer, TV) - Air-conditioning (installation and the aircon itself) - Soft furnishing (throw pillows, rugs, lamps) - Lighting - Fixtures (tiles, built-in cabinets, built-in wardrobes, false ceiling etc.) - Painting - Interior design and construction fees (if you are hiring someone). In my experience, the fixtures, appliances and furniture adds up to the bulk of the cost. I have a 5-room BTO too, without tiles, and it cost about 30,000++, but only because we did not do false ceilings, and lighting, and spent most of our money on the appliances. We also relied heavily on soft furnishings (rugs) and designerish furniture to liven up our space.
