Curtain colour to go with dark green tv wall and grey carpet

Hi . I need help to choose curtains colour in 4x3.7 snug room with French door skylight and 2 tall narrow windows. Dark green tv wall . Light grey carpet and sofa. Not sure to go with light earthly colour or teal with golden pattern. Do you think dark colours will make the room feels smaller.

I would keep it light and close to the wall colour. Pale grey or natural linen. You want the view of the garden to be the star not have competition from patterned curtains. Make sure they can push right back too and not cover any of the bifolds. Do you really need a window covering at all?

I’d not be adding teal if you have dark green. In my mind they’d clash. Keep it light and simple.

I opened my earlier post to edit the paint name in case you ever want to paint non-tufted, no-nap fabric. Unfortunately, my cat Linguine loves the binging and bonging sounds of the computer when he stands on the keyboard. Not helpful. It disappeared so... here is the name: Simply Spray Fabric Paint for Upholstery. (They have your charcoal gray) It did not make the fabric crunchy, stiff or weird. Nobody wants crunchy, stiff, or weird :-) Again, I would not paint the fabric on your gorgeous bed but I would change the wood color. The black edge and empty white room are the reasons it looks heavy. If you paint the black, I would suggest using an artist brush on the edge that meets the fabric even with fabric covered. House or painter's brushes are too wide for good control in that tight space. They are not as flexible as artists brushes nor as small. The Paris bed I mentioned was gray velvet and soft matte metallic gold wood. Soft, romantic, dreamy and transporting to a world of Princesses and Kings. If you keep the purple, I vote for gold or silver wood but NOT high gloss.

These are the color we are going to choose from. Our living room got one side is all window as shown in the picture. One side has two doors towards kitchen and a small storage room. We would like to put the Sofa in the middle to divide the living room into living area and dining area. Also we would like to paint the wall into a different shades than the rest of the room. Any recommendations?

You already have your accent colour as your sofa pillows (log roll pillows). I would take one of them shopping with me to get a rug that has that colour in it. It doesn't need to be a lot of that colour (I love the idea of burgandy rug here...but it might be too much with your monotone scheme). You can find a large rug that incorporates that red/raspberry in it so that you have a colour that is now your accent.

If you're not overlooked and the windows are new, I would consider not having curtains at all. If you do, go for the softest neautral linen look ones you can find.

Wow, what a fabulous view! Not sure what you’re building out there - a terrace or an extension? If you still have the view I’d let it shine. Keep the window treatment as simple as possible or, as Isla suggests, consider having no window treatment. Subtle lighting of your new terrace and garden will keep the view looking lovely after dark.

Thanks all. It is extension facing south. The house is elevated from the road so no privacy concerns bur the sun can be very harsh. and we worried the room will be very hot in the summer. We building a patio in front as well so we need easy access. Main reason for the curtains is the sun as seen in this photo

What about fitting some vertical blinds? They’ll keep the heat of the sun out and you can pull them back to one side when the sun isn’t on the room. Just plain cream.

Vertical blinds is a good idea. But will block some of the view when they pulled to the side

Hi,

A very good morning, really love your space with the skyline, views and natural light, and especially love the jewel toned green you have chosen for the feature wall.

In terms of your window treatments: we would opt for something neutral - the reason being is if you ever decide to change your colour scheme in the future your selected curtains or blinds will still be relevant. Blinds would look more sleek, and slimline but seek guidance on the fitting due to the sliding door.

Enclosed some mood-board design ideas for your inspiration in terms of your overall colour scheme, there are so many possibilities with the rich beautiful green you have already chosen.
