Bucktown Minimal

This is a new single family residence on a sub-standard lot in Chicago done for a new developer wanting to employ Green Technologies throughout the home. The home is designed and fitted to the Chicago Green Homes 3 Star Rating and Energy Star.

Built using a wood frame local zoning codes pushed the home away from its neighbors allowing us to bathe it in generous amounts of natural light. Fitted with 36 windows they were placed around living zones not only fitting furniture but allowing rays of light to reinforce the living zones.

The home is clad with gray washed cedar siding, white vertical hardieboard paneling and painted black steel that breaks the massing of the front facade to fold out and become the canopy at the entrance.
