Ukrainian Village Historic Transformation

Our clients were looking for a building to renovate for their young family, and found a historic two flat in the Ukrainian Village Neighborhood that required a full gut renovation and addition.

The original wood covered entry and stair were removed and rebuilt with a new design complimentary to the buildings history. The entry was renovated from double doors to a single door with matching sidelight. Black was chosen as the color for the accents, windows and entry to compliment the original gray brick facade.

At the rear of the property is a modern addition contrasting the historic front facade. The addition at the second floor is the master bedroom, and at the first floor it creates a covered outdoor living and dining space with built a built in kitchen which extends the living space from the first floor out into the rear yard.

The cedar deck is designed to be planter, stairway,, and seating while concealing the access to the basement from the rear yard.
