All furniture pieces were made or found and selected/designed maximizing height to accentuate tall ceilings. The vestibule in the background shows tiny space added by new nib walls as entry way to existing bathroom. Space Kit
Wall to wall custom cabinetry keeps the collections of books organized and graphically interesting. South facing windows allow light to permeate the space and flood the meeting room in daylight. White paint throughout keeps the space bright for meetings. Flooring is locally sourced hardwood. Stainless steel tables are pushed together at center to create a dynamic workspace. Morse Custom Homes and Remodeling
Morse Remodeling, Inc. and Custom Homes designed and built whole house remodel including front entry, dining room, and half bath addition. Customer also wished to construct new music room at the back yard. Design included keeping the existing sliding glass door to allow light and vistas from the backyard to be seen from the existing family room. The customer wished to display their own artwork throughout the house and emphasize the colorful creations by using the artwork's pallet and blend into the home seamlessly. A mix of modern design and contemporary styles were used for the front room addition. Color is emphasized throughout with natural light spilling in through clerestory windows and frosted glass block.
Howells Architecture + Design
The new kitchen for this English-style 1920s Portland home was inspired by the classic English scullery—and Downton Abbey! A "royal" color scheme, British-made apron sink, and period pulls ground the project in history, while refined lines and modern functionality bring it up to the present.
