On a private over 2.5 acre knoll overlooking San Francisco Bay is one of the exceptional properties of Marin. Built in 2004, this over 5,000 sq. ft Craftsman features 5 Bedrooms and 4.5 Baths. Truly a trophy property, it seamlessly combines the warmth of traditional design with contemporary function. Mt. Tamalpais and bay vistas abound from the large bluestone patio with built-in barbecue overlooking the sparkling pool and spa. Prolific native landscaping surrounds a generous lawn with meandering pathways and secret, tranquil garden hideaways. This special property offers gracious amenities both indoors and out in a resort-like atmosphere. This thoughtfully designed home takes in spectacular views from every window. The two story entry leads to formal and informal rooms with ten foot ceilings plus a vaulted panel ceiling in the family room. Natural stone, rich woods and top-line appliances are featured throughout. There is a 1,000 bottle wine cellar with tasting area. Located in the highly desirable and picturesque Country Club area, the property is near boating, hiking, biking, great shopping, fine dining and award-winning schools. There is easy access to Highway 101, San Francisco and entire Bay Area.

Completed in 2019, this is a home we completed for client who initially engaged us to remodeled their 100 year old classic craftsman bungalow on Seattle’s Queen Anne Hill. During our initial conversation, it became readily apparent that their program was much larger than a remodel could accomplish and the conversation quickly turned toward the design of a new structure that could accommodate a growing family, a live-in Nanny, a variety of entertainment options and an enclosed garage – all squeezed onto a compact urban corner lot. Project entitlement took almost a year as the house size dictated that we take advantage of several exceptions in Seattle’s complex zoning code. After several meetings with city planning officials, we finally prevailed in our arguments and ultimately designed a 4 story, 3800 sf house on a 2700 sf lot. The finished product is light and airy with a large, open plan and exposed beams on the main level, 5 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, 2 powder rooms, 2 fireplaces, 4 climate zones, a huge basement with a home theatre, guest suite, climbing gym, and an underground tavern/wine cellar/man cave. The kitchen has a large island, a walk-in pantry, a small breakfast area and access to a large deck. All of this program is capped by a rooftop deck with expansive views of Seattle’s urban landscape and Lake Union. Unfortunately for our clients, a job relocation to Southern California forced a sale of their dream home a little more than a year after they settled in after a year project. The good news is that in Seattle’s tight housing market, in less than a week they received several full price offers with escalator clauses which allowed them to turn a nice profit on the deal.

Custom built cabinet to house 3 white wine units to hold white wine at serving temperature This unique space, an underground, under the house custom wine cellar built by Vintage Cellars, truly showcases the ability to transform any unused space in the house into a magnificent wine room, no matter what the size. This wine cellar utilized dark stain on the Walnut racking to further increase the underground cellar feel. Jake at Vintage Cellars along with the owners of the home collaborated to create multiple spaces within the wine cellar itself- an area for bottle storage as well as a separate wine room space for decanting and pouring wine, as well as social get-togethers. Within the social wine room, a credenza style cabinet has been utilized for white wine and champagne storage. A credenza cabinet, or any wine refrigerator or wine cabinet such as this is a perfect option to keep your whites and champagnes at a cooler temperature, ready for serving to guests anytime. This custom wine cellar in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California posed a challenge for our wine cellar builders. Building a custom wine cellar requires a keen eye for detail. The floor and ceiling were not even in this wine room, and so extra effort was required to ensure that the custom wine racks, flooring and the like were properly fitted. As you can see, the wine cellar builders were successful in their endeavor; this large wine cellar turned out fantastic! So much open horizontal storage was used due to cement footings for the house. Every inch of racking was designed at specifics depths to accommodate the different wall depths. Some other features throughout the custom wine cellar include custom wine racking throughout, an area for large horizontal displayed magnum bottles, diamond bins, high reveal bottle display, LED lighting, an archway with a mirrored back, as well as small table and chairs for enjoying that special bordeaux, burgundy, or Napa Cabernet! Cellars similar to this are becoming more popular throughout major cities in California especially, such as San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Vintage Cellars has built gorgeous custom wine cellars and wine storage rooms across the United States and World for over 25 years. This underground wine cellar features luxurious pecan wood on the barrel ceiling, dry stack ledge stone on the walls, and 3 inch flagstone flooring. The glass doors separate the table from the storage room so the wine can be refrigerated by a hidden chiller.
