Le réaménagement de l’aile Est « dite St Aubin » prend en compte l’important potentiel architectural et spatial du bâtiment. Le parti pris architectural a été de lier visuellement et de mettre en valeur les éléments anciens existants par la mise en œuvre d’aménagements volontairement contemporains, afin de créer le contraste permettant une lecture de chaque période constructive.

La storia di questa casa inizia più di duecento anni fa, quando abili maestranze locali costruirono i due volumi principali, caratterizzati da una profonda volta a stella riconducibile al 1800. A questi volumi si aggiunse un locale con una maestosa volta a crociera del secolo successivo. Nella fase di ristrutturazione si è deciso di sottrarre uno fra questi volumi per creare la corte interna, tipica delle abitazioni @acquadipuglia, dando più spazio e luminosità alla casa. La Maison Salentina possiede le caratteristiche tipiche del paesaggio pugliese: possenti mura, serramenti azzurri in stile mediterraneo e un sistema di terrazzi ricoperti da chianche in carparo. L’ultima delle tre terrazze è arredata in stile arabesco, ricreando così un angolo di pace dai tratti marocchini, dove poter sorseggiare un tè a bordo della piccola piscina incastonata nella terrazza stessa. The history of this house, in the heart of Salento (Apulia - Italy), begins more than two hundred years ago when skilled local workers built the two main volumes of the house, characterised by a deep star vault dating back to 1800. A room with a majestic cross vault of the 1900 was added to these volumes. During the renovation it was decided to subtract one of these volumes to create the internal courtyard, which is the main feature of the Maison designed by Acqua di Puglia, a brand founded by the architect in order to value the Apulian scenery. The courtyard gives more space and brightness to the house. The “Maison Salentina” offers the typical features of the Apulian landscape: strong and deep walls, light blue doors and windows (typical of the Mediterranean style) and a system of terraces covered with “chianche” made of carparo. The last terrace is furnished in arabesque style, thus recreating a corner of peace based on Moroccan features, where you can sip a tea by the tiny pool set in the terrace itself
