Pour cette création de grande cuisine design lumineuse, les clients de Rieux Volvestre ont choisi une implantation en L avec un ilot central. La grandeur de l'espace à aménager permet cette implantation en L. La première partie du L est composée d'un mur avec des éléments jusqu'au plafond très tendance et design. Ce mur est créé avec des meubles hauts, des meubles bas et des armoires avec des façades blanches hautes brillances. A côté, il y a un frigo américain et une colonne avec un four Bosch noir éco clean et d'un micro-ondes Bosch. Ce mur est terminé par des étagères noires. De la démarre l'autre partie du L, composée sous les fenêtres d'éléments bas en linéaires façades noires avec des poignées arcs métalliques et d'un plan de travail en granit noir Zimbabwe satiné. Sur ce plan de travail, il y a une cuve inox Franke avec un égouttoir sous plan, un robinet douchette extractible à commande latérale haute pression chromée. En face de ce linéaire, il y a un ilot central fait en deux parties bien distinctes. Une partie de l'ilot central est composée avec des meubles façades blanches hautes brillances, le côté des meubles est noir et le plan de travail est en granit noir Zimbabwe satiné avec une table à induction Bosch de 60 cm à trois foyers. En face de cet ilot central, il y a un décroché avec un mange debout en bois chêne vintage avec trois places assises. Derrière cet ilot central, il y a un claustra délimitant l'entrée de la grande cuisine design. Ce claustra laisse entrer la lumière tout en séparant les deux espaces sans les cloisonner complètement. Au-dessus de l'ilot central de cette cuisine design en L, il y a un grand plafonnier très lumineux en relief avec des spots encastrés. Il y a aussi une hotte plafond de coloris inox à commande électronique huit vitesses, un booster classe 1, c'est une fabrication française. Our clients were seeking a classic and stylish Shaker kitchen with a contemporary edge, to complement the architecture of their five-year-old house, which features a modern beamed ceiling and herringbone flooring. They also wanted a kitchen island to include banquette seating surrounding one end of a large industrial-style dining table with an Ash wooden table top that our clients already owned. We designed the main run of in frame cabinetry with a classic cornice to completely fit within the recessed space along the back wall behind the island, which is hand-painted in Stewkey Blue by Farrow & Ball. This includes a central inglenook and an overmantel that conceals a Siemens canopy extractor hood above a white Everhot range cooker. Overhead cabinets and undercounter storage cupboards were included within the design, together with oak dovetailed deep drawer storage boxes. A Samsung American-style fridge freezer was also integrated within the run. A 30mm thick quartz worktop in Tuscany colourway extends on either side of the range cooker and this is repeated on the kitchen island as well, with an overhang on both sides of the u-shaped design to accommodate bar stools beneath. In the centre of the island, we created u-shaped banquette seating upholstered in grey velvet to surround one end of the large rectangular dining table. To store their collection of fine wines, we specified two undercounter wine conditioners by Miele to fit within each end of the island to store reds, whites and Champagnes. Along the length of the island, facing the Everhot is a large ceramic double-bowl Belfast sink by Shaws of Darwen and a Quooker Cube tap, providing hot, cold, boiling and sparkling water. On the task side of the island, two 60cm dishwashers by Miele are integrated at either end of the cabinetry together with storage for pull-out bins and utility items. On a further run to the left of the island, we designed and made a large Shaker two-door pantry larder, hand-painted in All White by Farrow & Ball and featuring deep dovetail drawer boxes beneath. Extending on either side of the pantry is natural oak contemporary open shelving to mix with the traditional design of the kitchen. A further freestanding cabinet with a natural solid oak top was handmade to sit beneath the client’s wall-mounted television. Cup handles and knobs are all brushed brass by Crofts and Assinder, with matching brass butt hinges.

A standard approach to kitchen design was not an option for this glamorous open-plan living area. Instead, an intricate bar sits front of house, with attractive and practical kitchen space tucked in behind.

Our client was renovating a house on Sydney’s Northern Beaches so a light, bright, beach feel was the look they were after. The brief was to design a functional, free-flowing kitchen that included an island for practicality, but maintained flow of the space. To create interest and drama the client wanted to use large format stone as a splashback and island feature. In keeping with clean, uncluttered look, the appliances are hidden in a multi-function corner pantry with drawers. An integrated fridge adds to the neat finish of the kitchen. The new kitchen brings the family together more often and the styling is also unified - making this space feel part of the home rather than a place of exile. Engineered stone benchtops are a premium finish that fools the eye into believing that the rest of the kitchen must be high end. In reality, the kitchen doors are laminate!
