A Modern Contemporary Kitchen Renovation
A Modern Contemporary Kitchen Renovation
Capozzi Design BuildCapozzi Design Build
This kitchen renovation evokes the true characteristics of contemporary design with modern influences. Built in the 1920's an open-concept kitchen layout was achieved by extending the kitchen into the existing space of the butler pantry. With the expansion, this created visual interest as your eye is drawn to the horizontal grain on the floor and base cabinetry. This kitchen design features Capozzi's Italian cabinetry line with aluminum legs framing the cabinet structure. In this kitchen, modern influences are drawn from the vibrant green laminate cabinets, the combination of stainless steel and quartz countertops and the walnut cabinetry creating visual texture. Keeping the original Viking range played a major role in the design layout as well as the exisitng vent hood and corner chimney. This ultra sleek linear kitchen renovation provides functionality along with a harmounious flow!!! Interested in speaking with a Capozzi designer today? Located on an oddly shaped wooded lot in West Vancouver, this house is approached by a meandering drive that traverses a seasonal creek. A heavily treed hillside defines the northern property boundary, while east-to-west the forest thins down a slope toward a railway line. To the east there is also a neighbouring house that is visible. The design for this house generates its own territory within an L-shaped courtyard plan. The public side of the house — an enigmatic stucco shell that faces the street — shields an articulated inner courtyard that is lined with wooden slats. This space is configured to accommodate outdoor entertaining and family activities. Expansive frontal views are primarily from the courtyard while potential views beyond the site have been carefully framed to provide privacy yet present specific views out over the site. For example an elongated window located at counter level in the kitchen offers a particular view of hillside planting and the rocks that are embedded against the house. The potential sprawl and warren-like nature of a large single-family house is addressed by connecting the modulated interior spaces, while a large double height volume cuts a swath through the house.

The transformation of this high-rise condo in the heart of San Francisco was literally from floor to ceiling. Studio Becker custom built everything from the bed and shoji screens to the interior doors and wall paneling...and of course the kitchen, baths and wardrobes! It’s all Studio Becker in this master bedroom - teak light boxes line the ceiling, shoji sliding doors conceal the walk-in closet and house the flat screen TV. A custom teak bed with a headboard and storage drawers below transition into full-height night stands with mirrored fronts (with lots of storage inside) and interior up-lit shelving with a light valance above. A window seat that provides additional storage and a lounging area finishes out the room. Teak wall paneling with a concealed touchless coat closet, interior shoji doors and a desk niche with an inset leather writing surface and cord catcher are just a few more of the customized features built for this condo. This Collection M kitchen, in Manhattan, high gloss walnut burl and Rimini stainless steel, is packed full of fun features, including an eating table that hydraulically lifts from table height to bar height for parties, an in-counter appliance garage in a concealed elevation system and Studio Becker’s electric Smart drawer with custom inserts for sushi service, fine bone china and stemware. Combinations of teak and black lacquer with custom vanity designs give these bathrooms the Asian flare the homeowner’s were looking for. This project has been featured on HGTV's Million Dollar Rooms

This 50's home had a tiny 8' long galley kitchen with 3 feet between counters which is common for the era. The clients love the location and wanted to stay so they decided to improve the kitchen they would need to do an addition. The addition allow them to move the small dining room into the larger addition and extend the kitchen down into the old dining room giving them a spacious island kitchen.

Made of natural wenge veneer and white high gloss acrylic these large kitchen cabinets supply ample storage leaving no reason to clutter the steamlined design of the kitchen. Minimalist bar stools line the opposite side of the island providing an inviting space for entertaining and conversation. Patrick Blake of Blake Photography

This remodel of a mid century modern home was focused on improving the flow and functionality of the kitchen while respecting the existing design style. We removed the wall separating the living area from the kitchen and installed recycled chalkboard countertops on some great new cabinets by Kerf design. New aluminum windows added much needed cross ventilation while complementing the existing architecture. New appliances, lighting and flooring rounded out the remodel. Photos by Kerf
