Getting regular updates was effortless, Eric kept us constantly updated with photos, videos, and clear communication throughout every stage. For first-time renovators like us, his hands-on coordination and responsiveness gave us real peace of mind. He personally accompanied us for material selections—whether it was lighting at Sol Luminaire, tiles at Hafary or kitchen carpentry mechanism at Blum —making the process smooth and enjoyable. Eric also connected us with his trusted vendor partners, which helped take the stress out of what could have been an overwhelming task. The renovation process went smoothly, with no major hiccups. Minor rectifications and unforeseen adjustments were handled promptly and professionally. “Yang's Inspiration Design's motto is to provide 'affordable home renovation to the common man', and to 'base the design only on what the client wants, nothing more nor less'. Based on this, they perfected the brief for our home. The initial 3D design provided set the standard and tone, and we looked forward to the design and building process as 1st-time home owners. Along the way, Ivan (the ID) gave us a ton of recommendations that proved to be insightful, positively impactful and complementary to what we were looking for. We couldn't be happier with the final product, most of which was based on each of his patient replies to our occasional queries on colour mix, direction of vinyl/tile, choice of material, type of lightings etc. Ivan truly delivered in his out-of-the-box design-concept of our wet kitchen area (carved out of the service yard), whilst creating an abundance of space for the dry area and especially the kitchen island (one of our favourite spots in the dream home he crafted for us). Another standout design call was on the bomb shelter mirrored-door and carpentry design - after a couple of iterations. Separately, Tommy was a delight to work with, masterfully coordinating the (often thankless) parts of our renovation journey. Kudos to both! Despite the odd situational minor delays that we believed were attributed to the sub-contractors, on the whole we had an authentic and impeccable renovation experience with Ivan and Tommy. We would definitely highly recommend them, and especially where the prospective homeowner has specific designs, inputs and colours in mind - Ivan's team can be fully entrusted to bring ideas to fruition!”

“It is a great pleasure to review my interior designer Rex Neo from Starry Homestead. This is the first time I am renovating my home, and it has been an exciting process. I feel very fortunate to have Rex around to assist/guide me throughout the design and renovation period. After working with Rex for ~5 months (design and renovation phases), I find that he possesses 3 main qualities: humility, mindfulness and ethics. During the initial space planning stage, Rex took time and effort to understand my needs and wants. He was the only ID who asked me whether there was any wheelchair-bound family member. He was also the only one who volunteered to go for a site visit. Even before signing the contract, we exchanged many ideas, and it made me feel great to play a part in shaping my home. I decided to engage Rex because he was really sincere in helping me build my home. Although I did not request, he helped me carved out a foyer, which I really liked! There was no rush to sign the contract, and Rex was already giving me tons of advice at the quotation stage. At the design stage, Rex would carefully consider any ideas that I proposed instead of outright rejecting them just to prevent any hassle. In short, I would let Rex know my ‘wish list’ and he would make it happen in one way or another! It was only later-on that I realized that Rex has an architectural background, which probably explained why he initiated a site visit, and influenced the way he designed my home. The 3D drawings reflected a cozy and timeless design – bright, airy, no dark corners, natural elements, flexibility in space, no extensive carpentry built-in, and no extensive false ceiling. The design was mind-blowing at first, and Rex patiently explained to me the details. It took me a few days for the design to sink in, and I gradually appreciated and loved the design day by day! While the renovation was going on, Rex coordinated all his contractors and even helped me arrange my contractor. He would perform his own quality checks and call for amendments/touch ups without me saying so. He was very nice by bringing me shopping for lights, wallpaper, blinds, accessories etc on multiple occasions. He even went beyond his responsibilities by helping me buy and deliver bathroom fixtures and light holder. During the middle of the renovation, I decided to change the flooring and main gate and door. Rex was very accommodating and helped me select the vinyl flooring and design my new gate and door. As it was the end-of-year renovation peak season, there were inevitably some delays but Rex managed to get the work completed as soon as possible. To sum up, I have a wonderful first-time experience in renovating my home! Besides that, I really love the outcome!
